WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH
Celebrating Women's Month

March is International Women's Month, and today, March 8, is International Women's Day -  an annual celebration across the world that honors the achievements and contributions of women.

The Town of Surfside wants to highlight two local women who have created a thriving business in downtown Surfside: WoW The Concept.

Pandora Rizzi and Marzia Sampietro partnered up to open WoW, a women-ran boutique with items produced by women for women. WoW sells unique woman-made products. From Italian imported beauty to leather handbags, dresses and jewelry to one-of-a-kind baby clothing, candles, keychains and stationery. The store opened its doors in early fall 2022, but its conception dates back to 2017 when they first met.

TYO Sushi Delivers City Code Fresh

For Chef and co-owner Roger Epres, serving others is a labor of love that runs in his DNA. A devoted family man, he commutes to Surfside daily from Palm Beach if and when his other commitments, a successful catering business, don’t get in the way.

In fact, it was his catering ventures that would ultimately lead to the opening of TYO Sushi, Harding Avenue’s newest kosher Asian restaurant which debuted earlier this year at 9454 Harding Ave. The success of his sushi catering for the Miami HEAT basketball team would eventually spark the idea to open TYO Sushi.

NEW BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT
Shrent.com

There is a new way of efficiently attaining items that you'd only need for a one-time use. The Town of Surfside is part of the several locations where the new online marketplace Shrent offers its convenient service, a platform where neighbors can rent items to and from one another.

Surfside resident Claudia Garrido launched the online platform as a way of supplying demand in the community of needing items for a few hours/days without having to foot the bill of purchasing them brand new to own. Items such as pressure washers, lawnmowers, tents, chairs, bikes, etc. Almost anything can be listed for rent on the site! Check it out at Shrent.com.
