Eating Disorders are serious but treatable mental illnesses that can affect anyone regardless of gender, age, racial and ethnic identity, or socio-economic background. Too many people with an eating disorder are never diagnosed but suffer significant personal and family distress. Join us at the "Understanding Eating Disorders," workshop to learn about:
  • What constitutes an eating disorder, their symptoms, and consequences
  • Recognize the factors that may contribute to disordered eating
  • Identify preventative strategies and treatment options for disordered eating
Our speaker is Abeer Mourad, Registered Psychotherapist - Qualifying, who provides psychotherapy to individuals and groups for the treatment of issues relating to depression, anxiety, eating disorders, self-harm, anger, procrastination, interpersonal relationships, ADHD, and obsessive-compulsive disorders.  She has worked extensively with clients with a history of trauma and is currently also a therapist at the AMA Counselling Centre.
