North American Interfaith Network

2023 Updates

NAIN.org

Dear Friends of NAIN,

The recent several years (2019-2023) have seen challenges and changes for all of us: a global pandemic, business and travel shut-downs, major climate events, social migrations, political unrest with violence and threats attempting to isolate and divide our communities. It is a testament to the decades of local and regional interfaith work, building friendships, connections, and communications that we continue to support one another throughout these many challenges.

One such exciting example of the trust and friendship built from the interaction of several interfaith agencies and interfaith friends is represented in the Sunlight Ukraine project. Behind the scenes, with only a few months to organize, our interfaith connections of trust and understanding around the globe helped bring a small initial seed of an idea into a reality. Several NAIN partners and friends were involved in helping this project grow, connecting countries and continents to deliver much needed support this winter to victims of war. It happened based on decades of work building relationships of trust.

Parliament of the World’s Religions 2023

Threats to Pluralism and Religious Liberty in North America
NAIN Workshop at PoWR 2023, August 14-18, Chicago, Illinois

Topics to be explored:
What is the state of pluralism in North America? How is separation of church and state functioning in lived reality in our communities? What steps forward do we need to take to preserve pluralism and religious liberty in North America?

NAIN’s panel will focus on the global rise of faith-based nationalism through the lens of communities in North America. This wave of extremism can be found in many parts of the world and is challenging the very heart of pluralism and religious freedoms.

NAIN Relationships

NAIN was built on and survives because of relationships of trust. Whatever the future holds it will be the quality of our relationships that carry us through. As to the work ahead, we are working to create more opportunities for those of different faiths and belief systems to experience each other in a way that erases stereotypes and allows us to understand our common humanity.

We would like to thank you for your continued support of NAIN & NAIN’s mission.
