Dear friends,

This Sunday is the 3rd in Lent. In the Gospel reading from John, Jesus meets a Samaritan woman at Jacob's Well. What ensues is an extraordinary conversation with all sorts of levels of meaning. For Jesus to be alone and talking to a Samaritan, let alone a woman is unusual enough. Their long conversation is worth reading in full as it mirrors closely the journey of every Christian disciple as they awaken to the deeper knowledge that in Christ we find the source of true life like a fresh spring bubbling up within us.
