Green Chemistry Connections - From Land to Sea: A Connection Between Decolonization and Renewable Resources

Our Green Chemistry Connections event series is a great opportunity for everybody in the Green Chemistry community to network, connect, and share resources. Each Connections event will feature speakers connected to the student learning objectives of the Green Chemistry Commitment program. If you haven't registered yet, there's still time to do so!

The Green Chemistry Connections series features an event on the 3rd Wednesday of each month from September 2022 - May 2023. When you register, you will automatically be signed up for all events through May, plus you will get access to all Green Chemistry Connections recordings.

During the event in March, you will hear from amazing speakers about how renewable resources, sustainability, Green Chemistry, and the decolonization of research are all connected. More information about the event can be found below.

  • Dr. Avtar Matharu, Professor, University of York. Decolonizing the Curriculum: Matharu Plots - From having a conversation to reflection and implementation.
  • Dr. Tova Williams, NC State University. Green is still the new black - Let's talk about dyes and their sustainability.
During our Connections, we invite all attendees to share their favorite Green Chemistry resources, so you will gain access to a wealth of ideas from your peers when you register to join us.

Green Chemistry Commitment Summit

Join Beyond Benign and the Higher Education Green Chemistry community to celebrate 10 years of the Green Chemistry Commitment Program during our Green Chemistry Commitment Summit! During this event, you will be able to connect with the growing and inspiring community of chemists and educators from around the globe; gain valuable connections, resources, and insights; and learn how you can be an essential part of a systemic change in chemistry education.

The Green Chemistry Commitment Summit is happening one day before the GC&E Conference IN-PERSON (in Long Beach, California) or ONLINE on June 12th from 9 AM - 5 PM (PT)! Your institution is invited to share your journey in Green Chemistry education with the community at the Summit and at the GC&E by submitting a poster or other resources.
