Iowa Water Center and the conference planning committee are working on the details of the 2023 Iowa Water Conference, scheduled for Sept. 18-20, 2023, in Altoona, Iowa (Prairie Meadows Conference Center).

This year, the theme of the conference is "Navigating the Extremes." We are planning various tracks, including those that address climate change, climate change and water, community education, women, leadership and water, and many others. 

The call for submissions is now live and can be found here. 
 

National Competitive Grants Program for PER - AND POLYFLUOROALKYL SUBSTANCES (PFAS) is Accepting Proposals


The U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the National Institutes for Water Resources, requests proposals for research projects to address the challenges and opportunities of understanding the effects of per-and polyfluoroalkyl (PFAS) substances on water resources, which are poorly understood, despite the real and growing effect of this group of man-made substances on water quality and the resultant exposure to humans, other organisms, and ecosystems.

U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Partners Announce More than $39.2 Million for Fish Habitat Conservation in 2023

Through the National Fish Habitat Partnership (NFHP), the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) and partners are providing more than $39.2 million to support 95 fish habitat conservation projects in 24 states. The USFWS is providing $5.8 million this year, with non-governmental organizations, state resource agencies, and other partners contributing an additional $33.3 million. These projects empower and boost locally led conservation efforts that restore and reconnect habitats to create more robust fish populations, better fishing, and healthier waterways.

National Competitive Grants Program for Aquatic Invasive Species Accepting Proposals

The U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the National Institutes for Water Resources, requests proposals for research projects to address aquatic invasive species. 
The deadline for submissions to the Iowa Water Center is April 15, 2023 5:00 p.m. Central Time.

The Water Resources Research Institutes National Competitive Grants Program (104G) Accepting Proposals

The U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the National Institutes for Water Resources, requests proposals for research projects to address improving and enhancing the nation’s water supply and availability, as well as promoting the exploration of new ideas that address or expand our understanding of water problems.

Illinois EPA Surface Water Section Virtual Harmful Cyanobacteria Bloom (HCB) Workshop

Workshops will be held on April 6, 2023, and April 12, 2023, from 1:00- 2:30 pm (CST). Both workshops will cover the same material.

Registration is required. There is no registration fee to attend these free workshops.
