SMSC Bern March 2023 - Precision Medicine Upcoming SMSC
This is the last time you will hear from us via the swimsa newsletter because the next SMSC will take place very soon and we, the OC, can't wait to welcome you all in Bern! From March 24th-26th we will spend a great weekend in Bern on the topic of precision medicine. The two hosts from @swissmedtalk will guide us through the programme. The application period for swimsa Exchanges is now open. If you want to go on a one month long exchange between April 2024 and the end of March 2025 register now here.
All applications will be considered according to our point system (no first come first serve)- said system and more information on exchanges can be found on our website under swimsa.ch/exchanges. The Registration Form closes on the 31st of May!

“Dobrý den” from Czech Republic NNW (NEO NORE Weekend) in Plzeň
At the beginning of February four swimsa exchanges delegates attended the 7th edition of the NNW (NEO NORE Weekend) in Plzeň, Czech Republic. The NNW is a three day capacity building event where exchange enthusiasts from all over Europe meet to build a stronger bond within the European exchange team as well as broaden their knowledge on various exchanges related topics. This year our Vice-President for exchanges (VPX) was part of the sessions team and delivered sessions on stress & time management as well as team management within exchanges. During our free time we visited the famous Pilsner Urquell Brewery, danced the national dances from all over Europe and saw a live Finish edition of the tragedy “Romeo and Juliet”. Thank you IFMSA Czech Republic for hosting us and providing us with this amazing experience.

Die vsao-Mitgliederkampagne im letzten Jahr war sehr erfolgreich – auch dank vielen bestehenden Mitgliedern, die aktiv Werbung für den vsao gemacht haben. La campagne de recrutement de l’asmac de l’année dernière a rencontré un vif succès, notamment grâce aux nombreux membres existants qui ont activement fait de la publicité pour l’association. En outre, tous les membres reçoivent une petite prime en guise de remerciement pour chaque nouveau membre parrainé, p. ex. une lunchbox ou un bon pour des livres. This is your local association for the med students at your university. They organise social events, parties, represent you to your faculty and fight for your medical education.
The Swiss Medical Students’ Association is the umbrella organisation for all Swiss med students. Her members are all the 10 Fachschaften/associations and projects like Achtung Liebe, marrow, METIS, Teddybärspital etc. Twice per year, she organises the SMSC (= Swiss Medical Students’ Conference) with students from all parts of Switzerland. The International Federation of Medical Students' Associations is the umbrella organisation for all the national associations of more than 120 different countries worldwide!
