Brand new, roasted Thursday! Ready to go home whole bean this weekend, but not yet grindable. Sweet and mild. We haven't had a chance to cup this ourselves yet, so let us know what you think of it!

  • Bethel Transfer Station Snow Hours- The Transfer Station Follows The Same Schedule As the Public Schools. When Public Schools Are Closed Or Delayed Due To Inclement Weather, The Transfer Station Will Be Closed Or Delayed. This Includes Saturdays Due To Snow Removal.
  • Free Road Sand & Salt for Bethel Residents- At the Bethel Public Works garage (which is by the transfer station off Route 53), residents can get free sand or salt. Bring your own buckets and a shovel to fill up. Self serve.
  • The Bethel Fire Department is looking for building materials to assemble training props that will be beat up/cut-up by firefighters as they practice their skills.  They are not looking for high quality materials - we’re looking for those spare boards not good enough for an actual build, but still usable.  In particular we are looking for: 2x4 studs- 2x6 and 2x8 boards- 4x4 posts - Spare packs of shingles- Plywood and OSB (ideally 4x4 or 4x8 sheets)- Construction hardware (wood nails/screws, joist hangers, etc)- Can be pressure treated or not (these are not for burning).  Please do not bring materials to the fire department :  email bethelfd.info@gmail.com to let them know what you have.They are also looking for a 20’ shipping container that we want to build into a multi-purpose training prop.  Do you or someone you know have a shipping container that’s just taking up space?  Contact  if interested in donating.
  • Bus Fares Resume April 1st- Discounted passes available online from HART transit starting March 13th, at the Pulse Point or at the HART offices at 62 Federal Rd.

  • Xtreme Ice Racing- Friday 7:30PM or  Saturday 7:30PM - Danbury Arena, 1 Independence Way- Watch in awe as steel studded bikes and quads speed around the Danbury Arena. There will be a total of twenty to twenty-five races. The amount of races will vary depending on how many local riders participate. Ice Racing consists of heats where riders earn points to qualify for the Main (final race) Qualifying. Heats consist of four riders racing handlebar-to-handlebar for four laps. The Main Event consists of six riders for six laps. Tickets are $20. Order online
  • Bald Eagle Viewing- Wednesday, Saturday, Sundays through March 12th- Southbury. See wild eagles congregating at the Shepaug Dam. Plus educational programs!  Make an appointment online. Limited number of spaces available so as to not disturb the birds.
  • Sign up for- Family Mental Health & Well Being Workshop- Saturday March 11th 12-3PM, Bethel High school- lunch provided.
  • CT Poetry Society Meeting- Saturday 1-3PM Bethel Library- Each person brings an original poem to read aloud and receive feedback on. Poets at every level are invited to participate; you can be from any town in the area. Poems can be on any subject in any form. Please register in advance and bring 6 copies of your poem. Our group is welcoming and congenial, emphasizing appreciation of each other's work combined with constructive suggestions  
  • Owl Prowl- Saturday 5-6:30PM Sarah Bishop Preserve- Sarah Bishop Rd. Ridgefield- Join Woodcock educator Tommy McCarthy and members of the Ridgefield Conservation Commission on this evening walk at the Sarah Bishop Preserve to learn about and listen for some of the eight owl species which can be found in our state. Early March is an ideal time to join an owl prowl, as owls become more active and vocal for the breeding season. We will delve into the lives of these secretive and beautiful animals by learning about the sounds they make, the habitat they prefer, and the signs they leave behind as they hunt, rest, and raise their young. preregistration is required for this free event
  • Monthly Seisiun- Saturday 6-9PM- Greater Danbury Irish Cultural Center , 6 Lake Ave- Join GDICC for the monthly seisiun with music - songs and tunes, and sometimes a poem or two! Join us from 6 to 9 pm! All are welcome, and there is no cover charge! Dinner available for purchase between 5:30 and 9 pm. Hosted by fiddle instructor Nora Hanley
  • Redding Grange Seed Swap- Sunday 10AM-11:30- 399 Newtown Turnpike, Redding- Take some seeds and/or leave some seeds. No seeds to swap , or don't know a darn thing about starting seeds? It's okay! We are happy to share from our local bounty of neighborhood seeds and knowledge. 
  • Daedalus Quartet- Daedalus Quartet- Sunday 3PM- Veronica Hagman Concert Hall 43 Lake Avenue Extension Danbury-  Named after the fabled craftsman of Greek mythology, the quartet features four virtuoso players known for pristine technique, inventive interpretations, and musicial artistry.   • New Milford Restaurant Fortnight- March 13th-27th- Parents Night Out- March 21st &23rd-  New Milford Youth Agency will be providing childcare and pizza at special "Parent's Nights Out" on March 21 and 23rd so that parents may enjoy some of New Milford's tastiest offerings! $10 per child. Preregistration required.
  • Community Listening Session: America 250- Wednesday 3-4:30PM Online.- Last year, the America 250 | CT Commission was created to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, which will take place in 2026. The Commission is tasked with creating an inclusive and engaging commemoration where Connecticut’s residents can appreciate history's relevance and understand the diverse people of the past that all contributed to the American story. You can play a significant role in the commemoration as the America 250 | CT Commission wants to hear from you!   • Irish Inspiration: Poems From the Emerald Isle - Wednesday 6:30-7:30PM Bethel Library- Rick Magee will talk about the theme of this program--we often turn to writing as a way of working through trauma.  Rick and some of his students will read their poems and discuss some of the poets who inspired them.  They will also discuss how writing, poetry and mental health connect. Rick Magee,the Poet Laureate of Bethel, is a Professor of English at Sacred Heart University.  He recently taught a class in Ireland called "Poets and Madmen" where his students used Irish poems and the Irish landscape as pathways to think about writing and mental health.  Rick has published numerous poems, including several in Irish journals.

  • Open Mic Night- Every Thursday 7-9:30PM- Molten Java- 213 Greenwood Ave. - All Ages Open Mic. LGBTQ friendly! Cohosted by Bethel Pride. Come play music, recite poetry, tell a story, or show off another talent. Keep in mind this is an all ages event in a public venue. We trust you to make good choices about appropriate material.

  • Register for Penguin Plunge to benefit Special Olympics-  Saturday, March 18- Brookfield Town Beach 460 Candlewood Road Brookfield- Take the plunge into icy waters to support more than 10,000 athletes of all abilities who participate in the sports training and competitions Special Olympics Connecticut offers year-round. All are invited to participate in the Plunge, including individuals, friends and families, and teams representing schools, businesses, organizations, and clubs.  To join in the fun, participants must be at least 8 years old and need to raise a minimum of $100. In addition to the awards for top fundraisers and best costumes, participants receive incentive prizes for their fundraising efforts.
  • Seasonal Ice Rink at Redding Community Center- Open dawn til dusk, weather permitting. Open to Redding residents or guests accompanied by a resident.Sticks and pucks time Saturday & Sunday 9AM-11AM.   • Bethel Food Pantry Needs- The pantry currently needs juice, coffee, tea, hot cocoa, and any kind of pasta EXCEPT spaghetti. You can drop off donations for the Pantry at Rainy Day anytime during our regular business hours.
