Dear Saints Families, 

This Sunday is Palm Sunday, and it marks the beginning of Holy Week -- a time of reflection and preparation for the upcoming Easter celebrations. We hope that you will take some time to remember the sacrifice that Jesus made for us and find joy and gratitude for the blessings in your lives.

As you may know, we have activated our search to identify qualified and experienced candidates for our school principal at St. Anthony High School. We have a very engaged search committee that is providing valuable counsel and have conducted a number of interviews thus far. We understand that the principal plays a crucial role in your child's education, and we are committed to finding a gifted leader who will lead our school with dedication and excellence. We appreciate your patience and support as we continue with this process. Please keep our SAHS search committee in your prayers.

Caps and gowns have already been ordered, so you do not need to worry about ordering them. Spring Break will be a great time for students (and parents) to catch their breath before heading into a very busy last eight weeks (less for seniors!) of the 2022-2023 Academic Year. This last quarter is action packed with athletics, activities, and most importantly, academics. Here is a quick glimpse of what is ahead

• April 6-16: Easter Vacation: Classes resuming April 17
• April 24-28: Arts Week
• May 1: Registration for 2023 Summer School opens*
• May 1: Registration for Online Health for current Freshmen opens*
• May 1-May 12: AP Exams administered
• May 8-12: Faculty Appreciation Week
• May 15: Summer Reading (all students in Grades 9-12) and Summer AP Assignments posted*
• May 23-25: Senior Final Exams
• June 5-7: Final Exams for Grades 9-11
• June 21-July 25: 2023 Summer School Session

*Details about Summer Reading, Summer School and Online Health will be shared in upcoming Messengers.

• Senior Kairos II Retreat is next week April 3-5. All Seniors going on Kairos are to report to the Arbor Courtyard on campus on Monday at 8:00am.
   
• Holy Week, the final week of Lent, is the most important and significant week of Catholicism. It begins on Palm Sunday and ends on Holy Saturday, the day before the celebration of Jesus’ Resurrection on Easter Sunday. It’s an important week of prayer, reflection, and gratitude as we contemplate the agony Jesus endured for us and the hope of the Resurrection.

• School resumes Monday, April 17, with a Saint Day. The school is closed April 6 - April 12. The offices will reopen on April 13. Easter Vacation begins April 6 and ends April 14.

• The Spring Musical, Little Shop of Horrors, opened last night. Tickets are still available. Tickets on sale now here: https://stanthony.booktix.com/

• Any athletes that are participating in a sport in the spring must be cleared. If you have not been cleared you must go onto www.athleticclearence.com create an account to be cleared to play. If you have any questions please email the athletic director Chris.Morrison@longbeachsaints.org
   
• Parents if you have or will be completing service hours. You must log them in to track it forward. Hours that are logged more than two weeks after they are completed are subject to not be approved. Please make sure that you are updating track it forward as you complete your hours for athletics. If you have any questions email Chris.Morrison@longbeachsaints.org
   
• Any girls interested in playing flag football stop by the Athletic office for more information.
