With the passing of the equinox, we transition deeper into our projects and processes of the year. We celebrate this shift with the launch of a new project,  opportunities to connect with the wider network, and the supported healing and growth that is asked of us in this time of deepening polycrisis.

Read on for updates from GEN International, the regional nodes of the Global Ecovillage Network, and our partners in building a resilient and regenerative future for all life on earth. Thank you for being here, and catalyzing change with us.

Resilience Project Deep Dive

Our Resilience Project just had its first Deep Dive session!

In the Deep Dive, we shift our focus from the resilience of social-ecological systems to exploring personal and interpersonal resilience, or the ability of each one of us (as well as our social relationships) to cope with shock, challenging feelings, and social dynamics that arise when we face climate change and polycrisis.

🌱 Do you want to try? Download this exercise that we are doing right now to connect with the land.

🌱 For this deep dive activity we invite you on an inward and outward journey on your land to explore and further deepen your relationship with the land, its stories and messages.

ReGENerative Communities for All

The ReGENerative Communities for All (ReGEN4All) project has launched! We had the honor of joining project partners ISCTE_IUL- Center for International Studies/Instituto Universitário de Lisboa, GEN Europe (representing the GEN Research team), LØS (the Danish ecovillage network), and ECOLISE in Lisbon for a week-long project kickoff meeting.

The ReGEN4All project was born at the European Ecovillage Gathering in 2022 and stems from the years of ecovillage research, networking, and advocacy conducted and catalyzed by the GEN research team and partners.

The purpose of the ReGEN4All project is to serve researchers, practitioners, and adult educators from ecovillages and academia as well as policymakers on all levels. Thanks to ERASMUS funding, ReGEN4All will work over the next year to make the knowledge gained within and through ecovillages more accessible both for academic research and to help inform policy decisions on sustainable lifestyle and regenerative practices.

EVIST Research Project

Have you ever wondered if ecovillages really have a sustainable impact on their regions? The  EVIST research project from the University of Basel (Switzerland) is studying exactly this - worldwide!

Ecovillages from 27 countries will be invited to take part in the EVIST survey to gather information on how ecovillages spread their innovative solutions to their regions, and what facilitates or hinders this diffusion. Ecovillages who are invited to complete the survey, and submit it before May 14 2023, will have the chance to win a voucher worth 200 USD and will also have the opportunity to participate in an online session to discuss the results and network.

Be a part of this incredible journey and read more about the EVIST project and survey!
