March to April Update

As our physical season changes to Autumn, our emotional season changes too, with each change bringing it's own reminders of loss. To help ease the transitions, we are focusing on mindfulness through creative and therapeutic workshops in April.

We also wish to welcome those who have recently joined the GCWA community. We've included some links below to our ongoing support services for you to read and share with your loved ones. With gratitude and warmth, from the GCWA Team 🌸

Exploring Mindfulness

 

How do you embrace mindfulness?
This 4 week workshop series offers practical tools, inspiration and guidance for the process of mindfulness. Each workshop runs for 60 minutes, exploring ways that can help you to slow down, calm your mind and manage stress.

Why is mindfulness important?
Studies suggest that practicing mindfulness can help us manage stress, cope better with serious illness and reduce anxiety and depression.

Writing for Well-being

This 6 week workshop offers practical tools, inspiration and guidance for the process of addressing grief and loss, including bereavement as well as other losses such as divorce, life-threatening illness, infertility, job loss and Covid-related losses.

We will use writing to explore possibilities of renewal and change. Writing is a powerful pathway that offers validation, self-understanding, emotion awareness, clarity and increased well-being. The kind of writing entered into is for you personally.

No special writing skills necessary Facilitator - Katrin Den Elzen (PhD) has personally experienced the transitioning from grief to rebuilding a new life following the death of her husband. She has written a grief memoir and is an experienced group facilitator and grief counsellor. Katrin teaches Writing for Wellbeing at Murdoch Uni for counselling students.

DATE : Wednesdays 6.30-8.30pm, 26 April - 31 May 2023
COST : $325 / $250 concession.
