Soak up the Autumn sunshine in Perth Hills Armadale
E-news from the Perth Hills Armadale Visitor Centre
April 2023
Welcome to Djeran
We’re slowly coming out of the second summer season known as Bunuru and into the welcoming Djeran season (autumn – the season of adulthood).

Djeran is one of six Noongar seasons. It’s typically experienced over April and May, however, this can vary as Noongar seasons are based on changes in the natural world (rather than specific dates).

There’s a break in the hot weather during Djeran season and it’s represented by the colour green. The first key indication is the change in wind where we can feel a light breeze swinging southerly directions. Another sign is those cooler nights and a dewy mornings. This season also sees red wildflowers take bloom, especially the Red Flowering Gum and the petite Summer Flame (Beaufortia Aestiva).

In other words… lots of cozy vibes to look forward to!
