"Jesus in the Passover"
Passover is the most important Jewish festival and Jesus would have celebrated it every year. It tells of God's redemptive love and power for his people; it reminds us of God's faithfulness in the past and his continuing faithfulness to us today. It's also very “visual” and the various symbols that are shown, eaten or drunk, are rich with meaning, recalling the escape of the Israelites from Egypt and also pointing to what Jesus has done for us all. We will explore how the symbols relate not only to the original story and also how they have fulfilment in their meaning through Yeshua (Jesus), giving us a deeper understanding of God's love, compassion and power.

If you’re not familiar with the story of Passover, and would like to read it in advance, it can be found in Exodus 1 vs 8-14, Exodus 1 vs 23-25, Exodus 6 vs 6-7a, and Exodus 12:1-14

TOGETHER
Monday 10 April | 10.00am | Walk
Following the very successful Quiz Night earlier this month, the second event of our new TOGETHER initiative takes place on Bank Holiday Monday.  This time it is a walk from Grace Fellowship to GBC via Hinchingbrooke Country Park (for drinks and facilities!)  It's about 5 miles and we expect it to take about 3 hours.  These details may change so let Daniel know if you are coming so you don't miss any updates!  daniel.beckett@godmanchesterbaptist.org or 07909 767505.

Details of TOGETHER events for the coming months, including Guess Who's Coming to Dinner on 20 May, were sent in a separate e-mail yesterday.  Click here for details.

Monday 24 April at 7.30pm
A reminder of our next Church Members' meeting. Papers will follow in due course.
Alpha Course - Starting Wednesday 26 April
The next Alpha course will be on Wednesday afternoons starting at 2.30pm on 26 April at GBC. Alpha is a great opportunity to invite friends and neighbours to explore some of the big questions of life and the Christian faith in a friendly, open and informal environment. There’s no pressure, and no charge. Everyone will be made very welcome.
May I encourage you to pray and see whether there’s anyone in your sphere of influence who you can invite, and please pray for the team and prospective guests in these coming weeks. I am also looking to put together a dedicated Alpha prayer team who will commit to praying regularly for the course. If you would like to be part of this or if you have any Alpha related questions, please do contact me on 07763347119 or through the church office. Carolyn
