Deadline to submit a nomination to the World Trails Network International Board is May 1

The WTN will be holding its elections for the International Board at its Annual General Meeting in June 2023 and is currently seeking candidates who are interested in being part of the Network’s leadership. Candidates with expertise in fundraising and fund development will especially be considered for the role.

Trails Film 2023 Call for Films

Final Deadline Approaching - May 1

Building upon the success of our festival events in Skiathos, Greece, the World Trails Film Festival is welcoming entries to Trails Film 2023. Accepted films will be shown at the next world premiere festival, anticipated to be this September in Niterói, Brazil. Films also have the potential to join the Trails Film World Tour, which brings films into theaters and along trail sides worldwide. We encourage World Trails Network members to enter films for consideration, send recommendations of films to info@trails.film, and share our festival call for entries within your own networks and organizations. This August, join the Trails & Knowledge Task Team on

a Central-Eastern Europe Trail Systems Study Tour

The WTN Trails & Knowledge Task Team invites trail enthusiasts from around the globe to join them on a 17-day study tour through Central and Eastern Europe to study and experience the various trail networks and systems in the region.


Starting and ending in Vienna, this exciting tour spans 7 countries with visits to 10 cities, 9 national parks, 8 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and more. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss the characteristics of the various trails and explore how nature can coexist with human activity and heritage with other passionate participants.

Camino Connections: Connecting with students through trails

This past February, members of the World Trails Network had the opportunity to hike El Camino de Costa Rica, visiting schools and communities along the way. About the World Trails Network

The World Trails Network was founded in 2012. Since 2015 it has been a non-profit association in Geneva, Switzerland. The Network is the largest globally representative and dedicated trails non-profit organization of its kind, consisting of trail organizations and professional trail experts, working collaboratively for the enhancement and betterment of trails around the world.


The network hosts the biennial World Trails Conference, established in Korea in 2010, and is also the convener of the World Trails Film Festival, amongst other projects and initiatives.
