Small business and non-profit vendors, it's your time to shine.
We're accepting applications for small businesses and non-profit organizations to be vendors at our signature summer jam, Black on Buchanan: A Juneteenth Block Party. It'll be another dope gathering filled with good vibes, good music, and good people. Prepare to be in the mix of art, entertainment, community advocacy & resources, family fun, and more on Saturday, June 17.

BWEW Early Bird Tickets Drop April 1
Heeeeyyyyy Empowered Woman! Yes ma'am, we're kicking April off with early bird tickets for the 2023 Black Women's Empowerment Weekend. No joke and no cap, these tickets will go on sale Saturday, April 1.
The two-day conference will take place Friday, July 7 at 2pm-7pm and Saturday, July 8 at 11am-3pm.
- Friday's Summit at Belmont University will bring attendees and panelists together for a time of joy, information, and Black Girl Magic.
- Saturday's Brunch at Marathon Music Works will feature a delicious catered meal and live entertainment, while honoring dynamic Black women in Tennessee.
The Black Women's Empowerment Weekend is curated for and will unapologetically center Black Women. Allies, partners, friends, and supporters are welcome.

What education legislation means for Memphis & Shelby County.
It's the first Plug-In of the year for West TN and we're going over the state of education in Tennessee. We'll breakdown the third-grade retention bill, explain what it means, and identify its impacts to our communities. But that's not all, we'll also discuss other education policy initiatives.

The Nashville Business Incubation Center (NBIC) has free opportunities for small business owners in Davidson County. Funding expires at the end of March; apply today.
Qualifying information:
- Businesses started on or before 9/30/19
- Businesses that made between $10K and $1M in 2021
- Businesses located in Davidson County
- Businesses that were impacted by COVID-19

NASHVILLE: PUBLIC INPUT WANTED

The Metro Planning Department has released public input dates.
There will be a series of in-person community input meetings beginning Monday, March 27 to get feedback from the community on new Metro Council District boundaries. See the above graphic for public meeting details.
In accordance with State Law HB48/87, the Metro Planning Department has initiated the process of creating maps for redistricting the Metro Council from 40 members to 20 members. The bill requires Metro Planning Commission to recommend a map to the Metro Council by Monday, April 10.
Planning Staff anticipates releasing a draft map Friday, March 24 or Saturday, March 25 to give the public time to review the map prior to community meetings. You will find those maps on the redistricting website. For more information, sign-up for the Metro Planning Department's newsletter.
