2 Week Countdown to the Egg Hunt!
April 8, 10:00 AM

The Easter Egg Hunt is our free gift to the community and it's such a FUN way to serve at Valley Brook! It's not too late to volunteer!

We hide 18,000 eggs for kids to find. We'll also have some fun games, a scavenger hunt, and prizes. There are many ways to serve including set up, "hiding" eggs, directing cars for parking, greeting, or helping with games.

Sign up to volunteer: https://event-53256-a877.pushpayevents.com/ or learn more at www.valleybrook.cc/easter.
Volunteer Spotlight 😊
We love our volunteers and are so thankful for their willingness to serve God and Valley Brook with their time and skills. And, we love to share some of their experiences with you here! We asked Ferg Jansen, our Wood Ministry leader, if he would answer a few questions for us about his work with the Wood Team!

The Wood Ministry meets at the campus every Saturday morning to help clear and maintain our trails and grounds including removing fallen trees and limbs and then splitting, cutting and stacking for firewood. We offer free firewood to individuals that need it to heat their homes but do not have the financial resources.
  • Ferg, how long have you been on the team?
    Since its inception, about 2014.
  • What prompted you to get involved?
There was a real need; I have the necessary equipment to help, and love to cut and split wood.
  • What do you enjoy most about leading and serving in the Wood Ministry?
The crew is 100% wonderful! Great workers (self-starters) and great fun.
  • Do you have a favorite spot on the campus grounds?
The trails. Unspoiled and quiet, God is always present. The river.
  • Any memorable or funny moments you want to share?
Occasionally, we get a stubborn tree that just does not want to come down and we laugh at all the methods we have tried with no initial success. Eventually, the joke is on the tree, but sometimes it is not easy.
  • What would you want to tell someone that is interested in learning more about our Wood Ministry?
It's another way the church is blessed to help others. You can get outdoors with a great team. And, the reward is that people in need use the product!
  • Any fun facts about the grounds that you didn’t know before joining the Wood Ministry?
The trails not only provide proximity to God, but great exercise for all ages in a perfect setting. I hope more attendees will venture beyond the parking lot and try out the well-marked Red and Blue trails.
If you want to volunteer on the Wood Ministry Team or would like to learn more, email connect@valleybrook.cc and we'll put you in touch with Ferg!
