Lubbe Levin, Associate Vice Chancellor for Campus Human Resources (Moderator)


Lubbe Levin joined UCLA in 2002 and is currently the Associate Vice Chancellor -- Campus Human Resources. As Chief Human Resources Officer, her responsibilities include providing strategic and policy leadership for the full range of human resource programs and policies. She serves as executive sponsor of the UCLA Staff Assembly and the Administrative Management Group and co-chaired UCLA’s committee on the Future of Work, which developed the FlexWork program.


During 2014 and 2015, in addition to her campus responsibilities, she also served as Interim Chief Human Resources Officer for UCLA Health.


Prior to coming to UCLA, she held key positions at the UC Systemwide Office of the President, including the role of Assistant Vice President—Human Resources, with responsibility for employee and labor relations, compensation programs, staff affirmative action/EEO, and served as program director for the University of California Management Institute (UCMI), a system-wide leadership development program.


Dr. Levin received her Ph.D. and M.A. degrees in French Literature from UC Berkeley and completed her undergraduate degree with Great Distinction at Stanford University, spending her senior year abroad at the Université de Nantes in France. Her academic background includes serving on the faculty at Washington University in St. Louis.

Lariza Johnson, Director of Operations at UCLA Health (Panelist)


Lariza Johnson is a seasoned healthcare professional with over 13 years of experience in managing and improving healthcare operations and has been part of UCLA Health for 18 years. As a Director of Operations at UCLA Health, Lariza is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Central Coast ambulatory services, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, opening new clinic sites, and implementing best practices to improve the quality of patient care.


Lariza holds a Master's degree in Public Administration from California State University Northridge and a Bachelor's degree in Business Economics and Accounting from University of California Santa Barbara. She has participated in the UCLA’s Professional Development Program and UCLA Health Lean Academy. She has served on the boards of different organizations across UCLA – UCLA’s Administrative Management Group as Secretary/Historian, Vice Chair, and Chair, and executive board member for BruinTech.


In her free time, Lariza enjoys reading healthcare and financial literature, staying up-to-date on the latest healthcare technologies and innovations, and spending time with her family. She is committed to making a positive impact on the healthcare industry and the lives of the people she serves.

Nancy Velasquez, Chief Administrative Officer at the Institute for Research on Labor and Employment (Panelist)


Nancy Velasquez, Chief Administrative Officer at the Institute for Research on Labor and Employment, which is part of the Social Sciences division under the College of Letters and Science. Nancy has worked at UCLA for over 23 years, in various administrative roles from Fund Management, Operations, Finance and Management. Nancy has been involved with AMG for several years, and enjoys collaborating with members to achieve opportunities for professional growth and development. As a lifelong learner, Nancy has a strong belief in professional development, along with mentoring others to strive for great success. Nancy finds her balance with inspirational reading and strength training.

Patty Gonzalez Johnson, Senior Manager of Academic Services & Operations for UCLA Anderson School of Management, Full Time MBA Program (Panelist)


Patty serves as the Sr. Manager of Academic Services & Operations for the Full Time MBA Program at the UCLA Anderson School of Management. Patty has worked at Anderson for over 20 years in various capacities. In her current role, Patty works primarily with faculty and administration on academic planning and scheduling. Patty is a first-gen college student, she graduated from UCLA in 1999 with a degree in Psychology and a specialization in Business Administration. She is a graduate of the Riordan Scholars Program (’02) and holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from CSUN (’18). Patty is passionate about personal and professional growth and when she is not spending time with her husband and three young children, she is reading or taking online classes to learn new skills. She is excited to help bring her knowledge and ideas for programming to AMG and build upon the current offerings.
