This Sunday

Even as Lazarus lay in his tomb, Jesus revealed the mystery, the paradox at the heart of the Easter story: “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying.” Again, he explained a parable about seed dying in the ground to his disciples: “Whoever loves his life will lose it, but whoever hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.” In life we need to die to ourselves. Even in death, we live. So how are we called to live our life? Let's talk about that...

Group Bible Study on a White Wood Table

Small Group Evo-2: Lent Studies

The aim of the group is to learn together, share together and pray together in a relaxed, informal setting!

This is not strictly a 'bible study' group and is more of a 'life group.' But I'm sure there'll be some animated bible discussion.

So if you're keen come prepared to share of yourselves, listen, learn and participate.

PLEASE NOTE ITS IMPORTANT FOR US TO KNOW YOU"RE COMING SO WE CAN JOIN YOU TO OUR FACEBOOK GROUP. AS WE DO 'HOMEWORK' EACH WEEK

SECOND TUESDAY OF EACH MONTH

CURRENT DEVELOPMENTS

Stage 2.1 QS

We have received QS (estimated costing) for Stage 2.1 (southern wall and steeple). We are looking at an estimated cost of $925,593.78.

Our engineer has explored the steeple closely and has surmised that it needs extensive work and this work must be consented to by Auckland Council. This is no longer just repairs and maintenance. This is due to the significant rot and some design issues, as well as historical repairs that have actually weakened the integrity of the structure.

The full QS costings can be found here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ScFCFkorU8aw-az2k_oIrgY0dd-nS7hP/view?usp=sharing

We hope that these are worst-case scenario figures and that this parcel of work will not be this costly. We also hope that the tendering process helps to bring down costs. We do have the finances to cover this but before we launch into it the board and session will talk it through and we may also come back to the congregation if it deemed necessary to do so.

Please pray:

1) That God's will be done

2) That Auckland Council, Presbytery and the Presbyterian Property Trustee's all give swift permission for the sub-division/ sub-lease of land.

3) That we find the right agent and purchaser/ lease holder in a timely and well organised fashion

4)  Something miraculous and/ or ingenious happens to bring everything together easily.

In all of this, it's important to realise that this is a building. God's Kingdom is not contained by buildings and is not limited by them. Let's trust that what God wills is what happens.
