Dear Members of Presbytery of Boston,

We are thrilled and honored to invite you to join us for the Korean Church of Boston’s 70th Anniversary Symposium from April 24 to April 26, 2023.

As we celebrate our 70th anniversary as an immigrant church planted in the United States, we will reflect and thank God for His great love that He bestowed upon us. We have prepared several events to commemorate this anniversary under the theme of “Gratitude.” One of the main events is the symposium titled:

Two Tales of a City Upon a Hill:
–Unlocking the Past for a Better Future Together:
Stories of Native Americans & Korean American Churches–

Through this symposium, we would like to give our very sincere thanks to the American missionaries for their sacrifice that brought Christianity to Korea and allowed the Kingdom of God to blossom. Because of their sacrifice and God’s mercy, the current generation of Korean Americans are flourishing in this country as a Christian community.

Our main goal is to reflect on the past history of the Protestant mission from various perspectives and envision our future together as we find thanksgiving and hope for the Korean American Christians in the midst of inequity and discord.

We sincerely hope you can join us for our 70th Anniversary Symposium in April!

Dear Siblings in Christ,

Attached is the Synod of the Northeast 2022 Annual Report. The Synod community, staff, and commission, in a faithful effort to create unencumbered spaces for the Holy Spirit to work among us, diligently worked toward responding to two questions--"When Did We See You? And "What Is Your Highest Dream of What Church Should Be Today?" Our report includes stories of bold faith as congregations and presbyteries embraced current challenges with appropriate risk-taking and a spirit of experimentation.

The report can be accessed here: https://online.fliphtml5.com/zkpz/ziex/

We hope that you will be inspired by learning about the work of the Synod. Your support of the Synod is invaluable. Our ministry is made possible by your generous gifts of time, talent, and resources.

Thank You,
Rev. Dr. SanDawna Gaulman Ashley

New! Presbyterian Historical Society: Each month of 2023, the Presbyterian Historical Society is bearing witness to the lives of African American leaders throughout the history of the PC(USA). March features a biography of Yenwith “Yen” and Muriel Whitney. Click here to read more about them.

Community Purchasing Alliance: The Community Purchasing Alliance of MA is a cooperative of community institutions -- primarily congregations & schools -- pooling buying power to negotiate better rates and terms on essential services. We strive to direct this buying power to Black-, Brown- and worker-owned businesses to grow local, living-wage jobs and close Greater Boston's racial wealth gap.

Newton Presbyterian Church worked with them last year on a group insurance purchase that saved several thousand dollars. NPC is planning to work with them on an upcoming printer/photocopier group purchase as well and looking at other options. They want to make sure the Presbytery knows about this resource because we can all greatly benefit from saving money and using our purchasing power in aggregate to support equity and justice by supporting minority and women owned businesses.

This spring, CPA is organizing group purchases for copier leasescommercial insuranceelectricity, and janitorial services. Requesting a quote does not obligate you to contract with us, but it can help secure a better rate for the collective at no cost to your congregation.

Info sessions for the electricity purchase will be held in March and April
