 ANNOUNCEMENTS

March 26, 2023

WELCOME!  If you are a visitor or new to Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church—we’re glad you’re here. Worship at our church is a joyful, prayerful, music-filled, traditional and modern experience. We worship to glorify God and build up the community of believers to live in this world as followers of Jesus Christ.

The 8:30 am traditional service meets in Sanner Chapel, immediately inside the front entrance of the church. Our second service, The Gathering, takes place at 9:30 am in Asbury Center. Our traditional 10:45 am service is in the Sanctuary and is livestreamed on our website, Facebook and YouTube. You can also access the livestream by clicking here

The Youth Group’s chocolate covered pretzels sale begins THIS SUNDAY, March 26th. They will also be selling the chocolate covered pretzels on Sunday, April 2nd.
The cost is $5 per bag. They will be available before and after service. The money raised will contribute towards the Youth Group’s upcoming mission trip to Project Crossroads in Marion, VA.
An easy and tasty way to help Ukrainian refugees!
By ordering pyrohy, for $10/dozen, you will contribute to their success.  Order by emailing or calling Louanne at lbaily0@gmail.com or 412-719-7063 by Thursday evening for your pick-up on Sunday mornings running now until Easter.   Leave a message of how many bags of one dozen potato-filled pyrohy you’d like.  Payment can be made by cash or check at pick up.
Pyrohy, also known as pierogi, are the delicious filled dumplings made by Ukrainians (and other European cultures).  Locally, The Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church makes and sells pyrohy to support and employ Ukrainian refugees relocated to Carnegie, PA.

Free Community Fish Fry
Good Friday, April 7th, 4:00-7:00pm

THE TRADITION CONTINUES

As has been the case in prior years, there will be no charge for the meal, although donations will be accepted. Both eat-in and take-out will be offered, as well as limited delivery to Food Pantry clients.
The menu, as always, will be more than plentiful – fried and baked fish, chicken nuggets, French fries, Cole slaw, hush puppies, macaroni and cheese, lobster bisque, fruit, and assorted desserts.  Rest assured that no one will leave hungry!
As was the case in 2022, pre-packaged communion elements and a written message from Pastor Tom will be provided to all take-out and delivery recipients who wish to have them. Included with the message will be instructions on how to take the elements. Pastor Tom will also be available to serve communion in person to anyone desiring such.  Offering communion will again be a great enhancement to the overall Good Friday experience.
We plan to feed the masses on Good Friday and hope you will be among them. If you wish more information on this event or would like to help in some way, please contact Rob Spicher, Community Events and Outreach Committee Chair, at robert.spicher@pnc.com or 412-720-4589.
Thank you in advance for your support of this very special meal.

Every Sunday there are three opportunities to enhance our 10:45 service for in person and online worship: house slides, sound, and livestream attendants.  Starting in April, we desire to have a rotating schedule that would only require commitment for one Sunday a month.  Training is simple and available by just sitting with the team in the balcony.  Specific training times can also be set up by request.
No previous experience is necessary. Please contact the church office to join the digital worship team!

EGGstravaganza
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

MLUMC’s annual Easter EGGstravaganza will take place on Saturday, April 1 from 10 a.m. to noon.  This family friendly event is perfect for all ages, especially children preschool through elementary school age, and is open to everyone in the community at no charge.  Please invite friends and neighbors to come!  Children and their parents will move at their own pace between several stations including egg decorating, crafts, and games. No food will be served at this year’s event.
Please consider volunteering to help make this year’s EGGstravaganza a success!  We need adult and teen helpers with stations, set up helpers on Friday and Saturday, and a clean-up crew.  Please contact Kim Rhoton (krhoton@mlumc.org) to help.
Can’t be there the day of the event? Consider donating hard-boiled eggs for the egg decorating station. These may be dropped off in the church kitchen in the marked refrigerator on Friday, April 8. No other food or candy donations will be needed since we will not be serving lunch.
