Conference: The Nordic Maritime Transport and Energy Programme

On May 3-4 Nordic Energy Research is hosting an event within the Nordic Maritime Transport and Energy Research Programme in Malmö. The focus of the conference is decarbonization of the Nordic Maritime Industry, which will be exemplified through the programme's three ongoing projects: HOPECAHEMA and AEGIR.

Tender: Energy poverty in a Nordic context

The Electricity Market Group (EMG) under the Nordic Council of Ministers invites applicants to apply for the tender "Energy poverty in a Nordic context". 
The main objectives of the tender are to concretize:
  1. definition(s) of energy poverty
  2. quantify energy poverty in the Nordic countries according to the definition(s)
  3. discuss lessons learned, best practices and tools to reduce energy poverty.

Application deadline is April 21 at 13:00 (CET)

Challenge: Join the Nordic Energy Challenge 2023 – Energy and Security

Nordic Energy Research invites all interested parties to participate in the Nordic Energy Challenge 2023 - Energy and Security.
How do we make energy supply chains and energy infrastructures across sectors resilient in a world characterized by high energy prices and geopolitical risks?
We encourage everyone to come up with ideas to solve the challenge of how a strengthened Nordic energy co-operation can combine high environmental ambitions with increased security perspectives through a broad and strong commitment from industry and civil society.

Seminar: Clean energy choices for reaching a resilient and carbon neutral Nordic region

On March 22, Nordic Energy Research organized the seminar Clean energy choices for reaching a resilient and carbon neutral Nordic region, at the annual Energy Week in Vaasa, Finland.
At the seminar, three recently published reports were presented: 
  1. The Nordic Energy Trilemma - Security of Supply, Prices and Just Transition
  2. Coexistence and nature-inclusive design in Nordic offshore wind farms 
  3. Inflation and its social consequences - The case of Nordic and Baltic countries

Call: Huge Nordic representation in the CETP joint call 2022

Nordic Energy Research is happy to announce that the Clean Energy Transition Partnership joint call 2022 received 66 full proposals – with more than 500 partners from 28 countries. 
Among the final proposals the Nordic representation is very impressive. Out of the 500 partners, almost 150 are from the Nordic Countries – another gratifying observation from a Nordic perspective is that the many proposals agree that the green and clean energy transition is best achieved through Nordic and international cooperation.
