Hello!

I hope this newsletter finds you well. Apologies for missing last week's edition as we had our team offsite. It was a blast, and I'm not just saying that because I'm contractually obligated as the founder. We had fun activities like learning math from Nitin (which made our younglings rethink their life choices) and playing cricket with bat novice (seriously, how do you get by without swinging a bat?).

But I absolutely LOVE team offsites (except for the one last August, when I got covid and gave it to 11 other people), because it’s SUCH a good time to get everyone together and just bond. (Also, am I the only one who has trouble ending a sentence with the word bond? It immediately triggers 2 more words in my head)

For the last 5 years, we’ve been having the team offsite every 6 months.Over the years the team has gotten bigger & closer to each other, and the bond is palpable and it’s just so gratifying to observe. What started off as just Nitin me and 5 more people at the first offsite to now a team of 25+ folks from across states is something we're happy to get used to.

Of course, we couldn't have a team offsite without some mead tasting. Archish, who handles new product development led the charge with a mix of some new interesting meads and also some failed experiments.
We sampled them all, because let's face it, even a failed experimental mead is still pretty good.

During our team offsite, Adik, our 22-year-old marketing associate (who makes me feel ancient), showed us how to make reels. Even our sales team, who had never posted a story before, joined in the fun.
Nitin is quite the technophobe, and even he tried his hand at making a reel. He gave up after 5 minutes and spent the next hour fiddling with an excel sheet.

But the best part, hands down, was when we all wrote appreciation notes for each other. Simran, who heads HR for us, came up with the idea, and it was such a heartwarming experience. We wrote value cards and anonymously shared our thoughts about each other. By the end of the offsite, everyone had a little booklet full of love and appreciation. Warm fuzzy feels all around.

All in all, it was a fantastic offsite, and I can't wait for the next one. If you want to join in on the fun, we're currently hiring (shameless plug, I know). And if you're lucky, maybe you'll get to join us for our next team outing.

Until next time,
Rohan
