Sync Technologies (SyncTech) is a cutting-edge web-based platform designed to streamline the insurance industry.  The platform is specifically designed to reduce the costs and time associated with building claims.  SyncTech achieves this by simplifying the entire property claims procedure, from site inspection and data collection to tender and rectification, through the use of their service portal for digital twins / 3D models, BIM and robotic services in combination with their SaaS platform.  SyncTech has been used over 20,000 times, saving up to 75% of the costs and time associated with the initial assessment. 

Those of you who attended InsurtechLIVE 23 in February will remember Sync Technologies as winners of the ITC Asia Pitch competition. Congratulations once again to Carolina and the team!
 

US emergency management to use Floodmapp nationwide

Congratulations goes to Floodmapp, with the announcement they've been awarded a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) contract through the US Department of Homeland Security's Silicon Valley Innovation Program.
This is clear recognition that static flood maps are being outperformed by real-time flood intelligence technology! Well done to the Floodmapp team. 

Koverd kicks off capital raise

Big plans are afoot at Koverd, with the news they are undertaking a $750,000 capital raise with a view to increasing their pipeline of leads by 50,000 annually.

We're seeing an increase in the public's recognition of insurtech as an industry, and it can only be good!

Aerologix and Clean Up Australia

Thanks to a partnership with Clean Up Australia, Aerologix's network of pilots took to the skies last month collecting images and videos to geolocate rubbish, including locations in hidden pockets difficult to assess on foot. 
This is a great Aerologix example of using innovative technology to enact positive change not limited to the insurance sector!

MVP Ventures Program

This is one of a suite of initiatives funded by the NSW Government under the Future Economy Fund's Commercialisation Pathways Program, and is administered by the Department of Enterprise, Investment and Trade. Submissions for this year's ANZIIF Australian Insurance Industry Awards are now open.  There are 17 categories (including our favourite, Insurtech Start-Up of the Year!), giving the opportunity for a wide range of industry sectors to be recognised.  Check out ANZIIF's website for full details.   
Submissions close at 11.59pm on Friday 5th May 2023.   This year's awards will be held in Sydney on Thursday 24th August 2023.

The research team at Sonr is currently searching through their long list of insurtechs, looking for emerging insurtechs in the APAC Region for inclusion in their annual Emerging Insurtech list.  Eligible insurtechs have to be start-ups under 5 years old and focused on Series-A or below.
