Dear <<First Name>>,

The 2023 Dean Stuart Stritzler-Levine Seniors-to-Seniors Scholarships Presentation will be held on Friday, April 7, at the Reem-Kayden Center Auditorium, room 103, from 4 pm–6 pm for Bard LLI’s membership. Each year, LLI funds scholarships to assist Bard students with their senior projects in honor of Dean Levine’s unwavering support for LLI at Bard College. The student presentations will allow questions and answers, and we will have refreshments afterward.

David Shein, Bard College Dean of Studies, who awards the scholarships, will host the event. He will introduce the six scholarship recipients:

  • Freya Hatch-Surisook, an Art History and Asian Studies major exploring how Hmong textiles maintain community memory.
  • Hannah Park-Kaufmann, a Mathematics and Piano double major examining movement patterns in piano playing.
  • Jackie Weddell, a Studio Arts Major, creating a collection of garments presented in the form of a runway as well as a museum-like exhibition.
  • Masha Krichevsky, a Film and Electronic Arts major creating a short film based on Ukrainian folktales and Slavic culture.
  • Sydney Merritt-Brown, a joint Photography Theater and Performance major creating a multimedia abstracted hair salon installation.
  • Rose Nadis, a Music major studying jazz, focusing on songwriting, will be performing a concert and recording an album of original music.

This is a truly impressive group of scholars with a diverse range of interests so representative of Bard’s visionary student body.

Mark your calendars, and please plan to attend on Friday, April 7th.
