As we emerge from winter into the early spring it's often hard to know whether it's best to have sunglasses or an umbrella to hand (or both!). But whatever the weather Riverside is here for you with everything you need to get this year's growing season underway...

It's looking rosy at Riverside
We think our current stock of roses are looking particularly healthy and vigorous this year. Perhaps they are excited that spring is finally here!
One special group of roses we'd like to introduce you to is our Cottage Garden Rose Collection. These are roses that have been bred to combine the finest qualities of old fashioned roses - opulent blooms and superb fragrance - with qualities of modern breeding. This means they are more compact (and hence more suited to the average garden), give repeated flushes of flowers and are disease resistant. You can learn more about this collection in our blog.

Pond life
Spring is an ideal time to start a pond, or to work on an existing one. Our aquatic section has the main categories of plants you need, including oxygenators, marginals and deep water plants (such as water lilies). We also stock aquatic compost, planting baskets, pond liner and other useful bits for making the most of your pond.

It's houseplant repotting time
If you have house plants that you've been looking at over the winter thinking, "That could really do with repotting" the time has come to do just that. With the arrival of spring, your house plants will be going into their active growing period, making this the ideal time to pot on any that are looking cramped in their current pots. It's also the right time to start feeding them again. In our house plant department we have everything you need to get your plants spruced up for spring and to keep them looking healthy throughout the year.

Welcome in spring with Amica
After the success of our Christmas range of Amica Felt decorations, we are pleased to present our Easter collection! We have rabbits in flowerpots, newly hatched chicks, fluffy lambs and more - plus bees, butterflies and ladybirds on wires that are perfect for adding a playful touch to a vase or potted plant. Amica Felt is a fair trade business, local to us here in Bristol, and their intricately crafted creations never fail to make us smile. We hope you'll enjoy them too!
