New Features and Improvements

REPORTS

CREATE A CUSTOMISED ENTRY REPORT CARD
Admins can now create customised Entry Report Cards by uploading Excel or Word documents, which can then be exported from Nucleus on a per-entry basis. The document can be populated with predefined copy and data entered on the forms by Entrants: and once downloaded, can be used externally to the system. For more information read this guide.
ENTRY PUBLISHING DATES INCLUDED IN ENTRY REPORTS
Nucleus allows Entrants to specify a date range where their entries appear on the Viewing Interface. These dates are now included in all 'Entry Data Reports'. Further information on automated entry publishing dates can be found here.

DASHBOARD

CUSTOMISABLE ADMIN DASHBOARD
The Admin Dashboard has been updated so that Admins can now hide or reorder sections on a per-instance basis. This allows Admins to hide the features that are not relevant, creating a cleaner and more focused user experience. The new Dashboard Management guide explains this in more detail.
NEW ADMIN DASHBOARD STATS
There are two new sections that can be added to the Admin Dashboard:

Approval Time Distribution - This graph displays the distribution of when entries were approved in relation to the approval time frame set by Admin Users.

Approval Promptness - This graph displays the timeframe in which entries have been approved and entries that require approval.

For more information on how these sections can be used to improve the administration of your award, please review the new Dashboard Management guide.

COMMUNICATIONS

NEW EMAIL TEMPLATE FOR ENTRY PUBLISHING DATES

We have created a new email template which will be sent to the Entrant when their entry is published by entry publishing dates. The email is triggered when the date/time for the entry is set. The process is fully detailed in this guide and more instructions on how to manage email templates can be found here.

NEW SPECIAL VALUES FOR ENTRY TEMPLATES
New special values are now available in the email templates for entrants - entry/

@@entryURL@@
- will include a link to the entry. Entrants can view either their unsubmitted entry to edit or a read-only version of a submitted or approved entry
@@submitedAt_Date@@ - the date the entry was submitted
@@adminOwner@@ - the Admin owner of an entry

For more information about email templates, please read this article.

VIEWING INTERFACE

QUESTIONS CAN NOW BE DISPLAYED ON A PER-NOMINATION BASIS
Entry form question data has previously been set on a per-entry or per-category basis. This has now been made more granular so that entry data can be displayed on a per-nomination basis. Some awards allow multiple performers to appear in the same category within the same entry, so this feature allows Admins to remove some performers while allowing others to still appear on the Viewing Interface. More information can be found here.

ENTRY ADMINISTRATION

NEW ENTRY PREVIEW FUNCTIONALITY
The process in which Entrants can review their entries once submitted has been updated. This was based on feedback gathered from a range of stakeholders. Entrants can now access a live read-only preview of their form to see the most up-to-date version of their entry. This can be accessed from the 'My Submitted Entry' section on their Dashboard. The PDF files are no longer emailed, but Entrants can print a PDF using their browser’s native PDF generator, if required. Full instructions can be reviewed in this guide.
PROVIDE A CUSTOMISED DOCUMENT FOR ENTRANTS TO DOWNLOAD
Admins can upload a Word, Excel or PDF document in the Admin Interface which can then be downloaded directly by Entrants from their Dashboard on a per-entry basis. This is useful for workflows that want to distribute a certificate or specific information that Entrants need to download. This article explains in detail how this process works.
MORE GRANULAR SHOW/HIDE FUNCTIONALITY
Recently a new feature was introduced to allow Admins to show or hide entries on the Viewing Interface on a per-category basis. This functionality has now been updated to allow Admins to show/hide entries on a per-nomination basis. This feature has been moved from the Admin 'Entry List' table to its own new section titled 'Nominations', which is now in the main 'Actions' menu. This functionality enables Admins to have much more control over the data appearing on the Viewing Interface, improving the transition between judging rounds. Full instructions can be found here.
UPLOAD ITEM QUESTIONS
A new question type has been introduced which enables the upload of assets outside of the Media Library. We always advise that Admins should use the Media Library, but there are some workflows where this new question type will assist. For example, when an asset is uploaded by Admins and needs to be hidden from the Entrant, if the instance does not use Electron or if the award is using instant entries. Please note that the asset will be uploaded directly to S3, which will incur AWS charges, and there is no video transcoding on assets uploaded to this question. To learn more about this functionality, please click here.
IMPROVED VISIBILITY OF ADMIN-ONLY QUESTIONS
The display of questions set to be admin-only has been updated so that Admins can clearly see these on the entry form in the Admin Interface.
ENTRY OWNER DISPLAYED ON ENTRANT DASHBOARD
Some Entrants manage many entries during the award process. Previously, the only method to find out which Entrant owned an entry was to edit the entry. A new column has now been added to the 'Unsubmitted' and 'Submitted' tables on the Entrants' Dashboard to display the entry owner. This column will only appear if the account has multiple Entrant Users, and if multiple Users in an award have created an entry.

FIXES AND UPDATES

- Viewing Interface menu now appears in tables.
- Filters on the Admin Interface allow Admins to enter any ID and will change automatically.
- When paying multiple invoices, the invoice numbers are sent as metadata to Stripe.
- All 'Save' warnings which were causing issues for some browsers have been removed. They are no longer required as the form autosaves.

FUTURE RELEASE DATES
In order to improve efficiency we will be moving to a Fortnightly Release Schedule and aim to send this communication every two weeks to keep you more updated and informed of new releases. This means that we will be doing fewer ad-hoc functionality releases and will only release emergency fixes outside of these dates. Please ensure when commissioning development that you build these dates into your workflows. Moving to this pattern will allow us to improve testing on each development which will reduce bugs introduced by new development and improve support in the long-run.

We will review this in the coming months. The upcoming release dates for your calendars are:
  • Tuesday 11th April*
  • Monday 24th April
  • Tuesday 9th May*
  • Monday 22nd May
We are unable to confirm the developments that will go live on each date ahead of the release notes email.
