Explaining and evaluating the status of the bioeconomy!

The World BioEconomy Forum has  been operating the past years by aligning all its events and activities according to the Four-Pillar Structure. With the structure one can explain and evaluate the status of the bioeconomy. Our founder, Jukka Kantola, presents the Four-Pillar Structure and how it helps your bioeconomy journey.

The survey on a global hub for the bioeconomy continues and soon we will hear the first intermediate results of the survey in the next Roundtable on 25 April. Registration is now open.

The Four-Pillar Structure explained
The World Bioeconomy Forum has is providing a method to evaluate the status of the bioeconomy and thus helping you to identify struggles/issues and assist in formulating and structuring action plans. The evaluation tool is based on the Four-Pillar Structure comprising of the following:
  • The Bioeconomy: People, Planet, Policies
  • Global Leaders and the Financial World
  • Bioproducts Around Us
  • Looking to the Future
The Four-Pillar Structure enables the complete evaluation of the status of the circular bioeconomy. It will act in a similar way as a SWOT analysis for the business or any other environment. By applying the Four-Pillar Structure you may gain a holistic view on your position in the bioeconomy enabling you to derive strategy and action plans to tap into the bioeconomy.

All World BioEconomy Forum events apply the Four-Pillar Structure in its operations and activities including all Roundtables and the annual Declaration. The Four-Pillar Structure ensures that all relevant stakeholders in the circular bioeconomy have a voice and a platform.
