Dear Friends,
We hope your week was filled with blessings! This Sunday, we enter Holy Week, the final week of Lent. Holy Week is a time to gather as a community of faith to remember and participate in the Passion of Jesus.
All are welcome to join us this week in these special ceremonies either in person or online. We will commemorate the events of Christ’s Passion: from His entrance into Jerusalem, when palm branches were placed in His path, through His arrest on Holy Thursday and Crucifixion on Good Friday, to Holy Saturday, and Easter Sunday.
The high point of the liturgical year is the Easter Triduum—from the evening of Holy Thursday through Easter Sunday. Though chronologically three days, they are liturgically one day unfolding for us the unity of Christ’s Paschal Mystery.
We hope you will join us! |

| Tell Congress to Follow the Science and Support International Climate Finance
From Sr. Bea Hernandez, JPIC Coordinator:
The annual US Budget Bill is a moral document that proclaims to the world what our real values are. As citizens, we need to inform congress of what we feel should be our highest priorities. As climate change continues to affect Earth with droughts, floods, and devastating storms, we need to call on Congress to appropriate the full $11.4 billion that President Biden called for to address climate change and to help impoverished countries around the world who are suffering the most to transition to clean energy and to deal with the effects of climate change.
Please read the information and consider signing the Union of Concerned Scientists letter calling for full funding of this effort.
Thank you. | |

| From April 19-23, the City of Chicago is holding a One Earth Mini Film Festival as part of their Earth Day celebrations. If you want to attend virtually, reserve space by ordering a virtual ticket. The films are free, although an $8 donation is suggested.
The film showing on April 22 (Earth Day) begins at 2PM, so you can still participate in the Wheaton Franciscan Earth Day event. I hope you enjoy one or more of these special films. Peace and blessings, Sister Bea |
