Dear Colleague,

We are pleased to announce that the Centre for Research in Economics and Business (CREB) and the Innovation and Technology Centre (ITC) at Lahore School of Economics in partnership with the International Growth Centre (IGC) and the Consortium for Development Policy Research (CDPR) will host the fifth Conference on Applied Development Economics (ADE), as an in-person event in Lahore, from 23 - 25 August 2023. ADE2023 will feature plenary talks by Danila Serra (Texas A&M University) and David Evans (Center for Global Development).

The conference will include presentations from international and local researchers working on issues related to economic development and sustainable growth in the developing world. The conference will broadly focus on the following thematic areas: Labour Markets, Industry and Trade, Political Economy and Institutions, Education and Health and Climate Change with a crosscutting emphasis on gender.
Last years’ programmes are available here

The conference will aim to (i) highlight recent research that can have lasting policy impact for sustainable growth in the developing world; (ii) provide early career researchers the opportunity to obtain feedback on their on-going work; and (iii) to start a mutually beneficial exchange of ideas and discussions among researchers on potential collaborations.

Interested applicants are requested to submit an extended abstract (up to 2000 words) or full papers, https://forms.gle/CBKPS9GQEc6EhKby7, by 23:59PM (PKT) on 21 April 2023. Accepted applicants will be notified by 21 May 2023 via email, and will be requested to submit full papers by 15 July 2023.
