Most children in the Batey do not have access to their own books at home. Federico told us about how he relied on kind teachers letting him borrow books to feed his love for reading when he was growing up.
After publishing his children's book, "Gato, La Pesadilla de Las Brujas," (Cat, The Witches' Nightmare) he told us of the positive impact reading had on his development.
Federico wants to pass on the same joy to the children in the batey by giving them all the opportunity to own their very own book.
