 Building Bridges and Intentional Community
Led by Dir. of Faith Formation April Rosario

Our mission at First Parish Church in Taunton is to
Inspire, Connect, and Serve

We all want to be part of and belong to a community, and when we are intentional about being part of communities that lift up our values and principles and push us to live into our best selves, there is a power and beauty that is often created that helps us feel seen and wholly accepted. All are welcome to join us this Sunday as we explore all that can come from being part of the Intentional Community we will continue to build this summer on Star Island during our annual Building Bridges retreat.
This Sunday in Youth Faith Formation

This week our Chalice Children, Jr. and Sr. Youth will focus on how the moments in life that ask us to join with others can help us to be our best selves. Through games projects and group discussions, youth will explore how by being intentional about the communities and groups they surround themselves with, they can truly live into their values and principles

** There will be no Sr. Youth OWL: Taking Flight class this Sunday as April will be leading service. Sr. Youth are welcome to join the Jr. Youth group in the loft or stay in service. Taking Flight will resume next week, April 9th.

Childcare Staff:  Emily Keegan and Holly Griffith
Leading Chalice Children:  Bri LaBrie
Leading Jr. Youth: Nancy Clark

This Week in Adult Faith Formation

Reminder our Adult Faith Formation: Spring Soul Matters Class is Monday night from 6-8 pm! Join us as we share the Spiritual Question (found on page 5 of the packet) we each chose, and explored this past week. For those unfamiliar, our Soul Matters group is a wonderful way to participate in the spiritual practice of deep listening that takes us beyond the question of “What do you think?” and invites us into the deeper one of “Where are you willing to let your faith take you?. If you have any questions, please reach out to April Rosario at dre@firstparishtaunton.org

Music Corner With Greg

Our Song of the month for the theme Resistance is "Fight Song" by Rachel Platten.

Rachel wrote this song as a way to convince herself to keep fighting to have her music published. It turned out this was the song she needed. Its lyrics are widely adaptable to any situation demanding resistance.

Another song we are singing this week is "Crowded Table" by The Highwomen. This is a song about including and accepting everyone. It has a poignant message with a very singable melody.

Look below for links for all the songs we will be singing this week! I can't wait to hear you!
"Fight Song"
"Get Together"
"Crowded Table"
"Lean On Me"
This Sunday After Service

- All are welcome to join us in the commons for coffee hour at 11 AM.
Easter Egg Hunt Preparations

Our Dir. of Faith Formation and Family Ministry, April Rosario, is beginning preparations for our annual Easter Egg Hunt and could use some help. We are in need of Easter egg-hunting bags, plastic eggs, and treats. If you would like to donate some supplies, we would be most appreciative. Items can be brought to service on Sunday or dropped off at her office during the week. If you have any questions, please feel free to email April.
First Friday Night Social Justice Film Discussions
Friday, April 7th at 6 PM

Led by your lead minister, Rev. Michelle, we will watch and discuss part 3 of the PBS documentary Race: The Power of an Illusion. Those attending will have a deeper grasp of the history of racism in the United States context in preparation for the offering our Director of Faith Formation, April, will lead in May to help us further live into our new 8th Principle. The final meeting is on Friday, Apr. 7th.  The overall meeting time is anticipated to be 6-8 PM in the minister's office or sanctuary commons, depending on the size of the group. Snacks will be provided, and all are welcome.

We did a survey of what people would like to see at the food pantry that we don't normally carry.   The response was bath soap and tissues.  In addition we need cans of Chef Boyardee and reusable grocery bags.  You can leave your donations in the box at the top of the stairs by the glass door or bring them to service on Sunday and leave them in the box marked 'Food Pantry Donations' at the front of the sanctuary.  Or you can stop by on Saturday morning to see the food pantry in operation!  Thank you for your great support of this food pantry!
