Final call to sign up for our upcoming church directory photoshoots | This is your last chance to be included in the directory. The photoshoots will take place at U2C3 on Monday, March 27th and Tuesday, March 28th, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Please note that the deadline for online scheduling is Monday, March 21st. We encourage you to schedule your session as soon as possible to secure your spot. By participating, you will receive a complimentary directory and an 8x10 portrait at no cost. All book lovers are invited to join a new U2C3 Book Club, starting April 12 | We will be meeting on the second Wednesday of each month from 4 PM to 6 PM in the large classroom at U2C3. For our first meeting, we will be discussing Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teachings of Plants by Robin Wall Kimmerer. Upcoming Events

Join us for a fun-filled Family Game Night on March 24 from 6-8 p.m. | Whether you're a board game enthusiast or simply looking for a night of casual gaming, all are welcome to participate. We'll have a variety of games available on tables, or feel free to bring your own favorite game to share. Best of all, this is a free event! And if you're in the mood for something sweet, ice cream sundaes will be available for just $5 each. This is the perfect opportunity to make new friends and get to know your fellow community members. We can't wait to see you there!

Now the real work begins

The Texas legislature not only remains in session but makes critical decisions in the next few weeks. Our representatives and senators need to hear from you about your Unitarian Universalist values and the issues you care about. Phone calls and letters are a great start but a personal visit to their local office has the biggest impact. TXUUJM (Texas Unitarian Universalist Justice Ministry) is busy following up on the legislative visit day where more than 150 UUs met with more than 50 representatives and around 30 senators. One of TXUUJM top legislative priorities is getting Medicaid coverage extended to 12 months postpartum. Currently mothers can be kicked off Medicaid 6 months after they give birth. Both Hunter and Herrera have supported this extension bill previously but the bill stalled in the Senate last session. Our state senators also support this bill. It's also important that our representatives hear from you about the dozens of transphobic bills that have been filled. These bills are exclusionary and do support parents and children with good relationships. School vouchers are another issue gaining attention this session. Remind our elected officials that taxpayers support public schools for all Texas children, not just their own children, and we do not want our tax dollars diverted to private schools.
