A huge THANK YOU to Jenifer Parkinson and Lucinda Sheldon for cleaning out the cupboard by the ramp! Great job and so appreciated!

Climate Change Action Team Meeting
On Wednesday, March 29 at 5:30 pm the UUSMV Climate Justice Group will be reviewing the results of the recent survey.  Come to the meeting for a conversation spurred on by Barbara Casau’s and other UUSMV member’s interest in the environment and the book, “Saving Us” by the author, Katharine Hayhoe. Let's talk more among ourselves and others to raise awareness of the problem and what we can do about it.

Climate Change Quote
"What's happening in the ocean - warming, acidification, and more  - is even bigger and more alarming than what is happening on land."
 - from the author of the book "Saving Us" by Katharine Hayhoe.

Pastoral Support
In lieu of regular office hours, Rev. Janet asks that you request one-on-one meetings using this link: https://calendly.com/revjanet
From there you can select a date, time, duration and location to connect with her.

If none of the available times work for you, or if you have a more urgent need, please reach out by phone, text message or email and she will get back to you with options.

Need Someone to Listen?
In addition to pastoral care being available from Rev Janet, your Lay Ministers (Katharine Colon, Bill Bridwell, Jan Casey, Kevin Longval, Donna McElroy) are available to lend support to anyone in our UUSMV community in their time of need by being available to listen and offer comfort. You can find their contact information in the member's section of the website:  www.uusmv.org
Minister’s Fund - Caring Fund
Caring funds are available for Members & Friends who need a helping hand this winter with food, medicine, utilities, heating, mortgage/rent payments or other essentials.  Your request for assistance will be kept confidential.  Please reach out to Rev Janet, Jan Casey, or Kristy Brooks.  UUSMV cares about you!

Mission

We are an intentionally welcoming congregation of diverse faiths and shared values, fostering spiritual growth, community action, racial equity and universal justice.

Our Vision 2025
We envision a flourishing and caring congregation that . . .
  • Built a loving and supportive, multicultural community.
  • Created thriving shared ministries led by our minister, lay leaders, and the congregation working collaboratively.
  • Worked to accountably dismantle white supremacy, racism, and all intersecting oppressions in ourselves, our community, our institutions, and our democracy.
  • Determined the feasibility of a new building/addition that will enhance our ability to serve our congregation and the island community.
……. As we seek to widen our spiritual horizons.
