Wellness Workshop

The Education Department of Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc is hosting a three-day Wellness Workshop and Comedy Show from March 21st to 23rd at the Sk’elep School of Excellence. The event will run from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM daily and lunch will be provided. On March 23, there will be a dinner at 5:00 PM, followed by a performance by comedian Kasey Nicholson. Hunting Engagement Session

Join SNTC for the second Secwépemc Nation Hunting Engagement Session on March 20, 2023, at The Dunes in Kamloops, BC. Registration is at 4pm and dinner will be served at 5pm. For more information, contact the Shuswap Nation Tribal Council at sntcadmn@shuswapnation.org or call 778-471-8200. If you're unable to attend, there will be other sessions held throughout the Nation.

Traditional Food Harvest Tools

Join us March 20 - 23 from 9am - 6pm at Full Circle Youth Centre for an exciting event on Traditional Food Harvest Tools with Ed Jensen.

All material will be gathered by participants, so please dress appropriately. This event is open to all TteS members on and off reserve, so don't miss out on this incredible opportunity to learn about traditional food harvesting tools. Evening with Leaders

Kúkpi7 Rosanne was honoured to speak at the Kamloops Chamber of Commerce Evening with the Mayor and Kúkpi7. Kúkpi7 proudly shared TteS’s successes including the construction of a grocery store, the opening of a new Tesla station , the new waste management facility and the Transload partnership project. Kúkpi7 also shared some examples of how the TteS Business and Economic Development Team are fostering the entrepreneurial spirit in the community. What a great night! Kukwstsétsemc Chamber of Commerce.

First Métis Man of Odesa

Western Canada Theatre (WCT) is honoured to present Punctuate! Theatre’s world premiere of First Métis Man of Odesa by Matthew MacKenzie & Mariya Khomutova. From March 16 to 25, 2023 at the Pavilion Theatre, award-winning playwright Matthew MacKenzie joins forces with his wife, award-winning Ukrainian actor Mariya Khomutova, to tell their personal story of love, family, and war.

Tax Prep

2022 Tax Preparation will be held on Saturday, April 8 and Saturday April 15 at Moccasin Square Garden (MSG). Please bring all necessary documentation to file. Band Member spouses subject to $25.00 fee. Staff and Staff spouses subject to $66.00 fee. Board Game Night

National Gathering of Elders 2023

Elders from all Indigenous groups (First Nation, Metis, and Inuit) from across Canada are gathering to celebrate the Indigenous cultures of Canada and having the opportunity to discuss key topics like reconciliation, MMIWGM2S, language and culture, and other topics that affect Indigenous people of Canada. The gathering will take place at the Edmonton Expo Center (Edmonton AB) October 30 - November 2, 2023.

Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc (TteS) Chief and Council met with Electoral Area Director Lee Morris representing Area P and Scott Hildebrand, CAO, from the Thompson Nicola Regional District. TteS and the TNRD are committed to continual improvement of our relationship.

Call Out To Artists

The Residential School Monument Planning Group at Splatsin is calling for submissions for the design and construction of a large-scale sculptural monument to commemorate those Splatsin members who attended Residential Schools. A group led by Survivors has been meeting to plan the monument to commemorate those Splatsin members that attended Residential Schools. So far, 146 members have been identified; 46 of that number are still living today. The project will be located at Splatsin, in the southern interior of British Columbia, near Enderby, BC. Deadline for submissions is March 31, 2023

Indigenous Athletics Camp

I-SPARC invites you to their upcoming 2023 BC Indigenous Provincial Athletics Camp! This two-day camp will be offered by their Team BC coaches and will cover not only run, jumps, and throws disciplines but will also have sessions on strength training and conditioning, injury prevention, sport psychology and more.

Logo Contest

The BC Assembly of First Nations and Ecotrust Canada's Climate Innovation team have partnered to host a logo design competition for First Nations youth aged 15-30. The winner of the competition will receive $5,000 and be featured on the First Nations Carbon Toolkit website. The contest closes April 15, 2023 at midnight.

Training Program

Hospitality Work Skills Training Program April 17 - 21, in Hope, BC. This free five day immersive program is designed for Indigenous Participants interested in kick-starting their career in workforce camp hospitality. Registration Deadline: March 15.

Exciting news! The registration deadline for athletes to register for the Team BC NAIG "Scorecard Sports" has been extended to April 2, 2023! For these sports, the athlete competes in events, receives a result that they can then upload to their Team BC profile in the registration system.

Elders Input Needed!

The Thompson-Nicola Conservation Collaborative invites Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc Elders to join them by participating in and providing input on critical areas used within the Thompson Nicola region. By adding your knowledge of current and past land use and occupation on physical maps, they will identify important Indigenous use areas and their overlap with areas of high carbon storage within the Thompson Nicola region, supporting increased land conservation and protection.
