Lots of lovely stop-ins and notes after yesterday’s report. The skiing was great, but the hugs were even better! Turns out you guys are reading this thing…
Holy Moly. Almost two inches of fresh light fluffy snow blanketed the entire system after we groomed. Talk about heavenly skiing!!! Don’t miss today. You will love it here for sure.
Nordic Nate’s Sunday Sermon (questionable statements about something in the past – you know, like folklore that sticks). My personal preference when outdoors is skate skiing. However, I’m handy with off-track-type skiing too. I use the Fischer Excursion 88’s a ton and love this ski. Sometimes, I think I am one of the first indigenous natives (sort of in the area where China and Russia sit today) cruising around searching for powder and food. I tend to tuck into tight trees for coverage and then blast out for quick powder shots just like they used to do 5000 years ago when skiing was seemingly invented. These stealth skiers had one ski longer than the other for glide and the shorter for kick. They would use a spear to pole with as well as hunt. Can you imagine the ski equipment 5000 years ago? Do you think they complained of kick wax not working or warranties for broken spears? I mean come on. Skiing was a way to live and provide for their families. If you break your spear, you don’t hunt. So don’t mess up – you may go hungry.
Wow – that was a weird trip we all just took. Sorry bout that. I’m a little excited about the new snow so focus is a bit out of wack. You better hurry up…I’m headed out soon for first tracks.
Great Glen is my church.
