MONDAY, MARCH 20
(1) CONTACT YOUR ELECTED OFFICIALS - NYC
Click here to send an easy, pre-written email to Mayor Eric Adams, the city council speaker, the finance chair, and YOUR council member to demand that the city stop defunding core services including schools, libraries, and parks. You're always welcome to personalize the text.
(2) ABORTION RIGHTS ACTIONS - NATIONAL
Not in NYC? Last week's newsletter had three pro-abortion actions you can take from your home or office, no matter where you live If you didn't do them already, you can do them now.
TUESDAY, MARCH 21
(1) STOP DIRTY BANKS CLIMATE ACTION - NATIONAL
Activist organization Third Act is leading a national day of climate action, calling on big banks to stop funding fossil fuels. If you can, join an in-person event. As with all in-person events, you don't have to participate in the entire action to contribute. You are welcome to come late, leave early, or just stop by to take photos and amplify the activists on social media.

(2) FOX LIES, DEMOCRACY DIES! - NYC

The activists of Truth Tuesdays and Rise and Resist have held a weekly protest at Fox "News" HQ calling attention to Fox's dangerous lies since August 2021. Now that the Dominion lawsuit has exposed how deliberately Fox bigwigs lied about the presidential election, the rest of the media has taken notice.The action has appeared on the Daily Show and Showtime's The Circus, as well as in the New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Newsweek, Chicago Tribune, Philadelphia Inquirer, ABC News, NBC News, CNBC, Salon.com, Huffington Post, Financial Times, The Guardian, Der Spiegel, and many more U.S. and international news outlets. Join the action this Tuesday and maybe you'll get on the (non-Fox) news.
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 22
STOP WILLOW LETTER - NATIONAL
Send a pre-written letter to President Biden and the Bureau of Land Management asking for them to reverse their decision on the Willow Oil Drilling Project – a proposed massive expansion of oil and gas drilling and extraction that would threaten wildlife and ecosystems in Alaska’s pristine Western Arctic.
THURSDAY, MARCH 23
(1) THREE NYC RALLIES - NYC

- 8:45 AM - 11 AM, 633 3rd Ave.: Gather outside Governor Kathy Hochul's office in Manhattan to demand that the Governor and State legislature fund climate justice in the 2023 Budget. More information and registration here.
- 9 AM - 10 AM, 52 Chambers St.: Join Freedom Agenda ahead of the City Council Criminal Justice Committee's Preliminary Budget hearing to insist on a budget that supports the closure of the notorious Rikers Island jail complex by moving resources from the bloated Department of Correction to crucial community needs. - 5 PM - 6 PM, Grand Central Terminal: Meet the activists of Rise and Resist near the information booth to take part in their regular immigration vigil, reminding people that seeking asylum is a human right and perfectly legal.
(2) MARCH FOR OUR LIVES - MICHIGAN, FLORIDA, PENNSYLVANIA
March 24 marks the fifth anniversary of the March for Our Lives, the national student-led demonstration for gun-control legislation that took place just over a month after the 2018 Parkland school shooting. While the Senate passed the first major federal gun safety legislation in nearly 30 years in 2022, that's been the only good news. In fact, in 2020, guns became the leading cause of death for Americans between the ages of 1 and 19, responsible for killing more kids than cancer.
