Happy Spring/Autumn!

A change of season is a wonderful event, bringing with it hope and expectancy for the upcoming months. However, in looking back over the first few months of 2023, we have much to be thankful for in all areas of our lives and ministry! Read on to see what we've been up to...

Much love and blessings,

Bokamoso Blessings...

If a picture is worth a 1,000 words, we hope you enjoy this short video of the activities Bokamoso has been up to recently...

With 110 children, in the rural informal settlements in Mpumalanga (2 hours from Johannesburg), in dire need of food, Bokamoso had our work cut out for us. Add heavy flooding and flash floods to the mix (and lots & lots of mud), the challenge was increased. However, the beautiful, big smiles made it all worthwhile! (And knowing that these sweet children would have happy, full tummies too!) We are so thankful to all who partner with us to help bless these little ones the Lord sees and loves.
One of the major issues we face with our young girls is that of teenage pregnancy. It is prevalent in all of the informal settlements and townships within South Africa. Some see pregnancy as a way to receive a stipend from the government (R300/$16 p/m), whilst others get pregnant from their "sugar daddies," or not by their own choice. Last year we prayed that none of the 10 Hlanganani teenage girls would get pregnant, and the Lord honored this prayer. Yay!

However, with over 500 children in Bokamoso, we have several young teenage moms. The 15-year-old mom, pictured above with her 6-month-old baby girl would love to return to school but does not see how this is possible. Another 16-year-old is taking care of her younger sister and her mom, who is a sex worker/drug addict, and now having a baby at a young age has essentially sealed her fate.

However, we know that God is able to do miracles and change futures. By supporting these families and others such as these with monthly food parcels, we are taking away the burden of trying to find odd jobs and ways to find food to feed themselves. Motivating them to find ways to go back to school or find solid employment is another main goal we have for each teenage mom. Sharing the love of God and His plan and hope for their lives helps them know that their lives have a purpose and do not have to be one spent in a shack, scrapping by each day. Prayers that God will help these young moms to have the wisdom and tenacity to work for a brighter future are appreciated!
We were blessed to celebrate our 20th Wedding anniversary this month!
Prayer requests:
  • New Church Group: The Lord has been laying on my heart to start a new church group in a rather unusual place. Prayers around wisdom are appreciated!
  • Bokamoso: Increase in monthly support for Bokamoso for "miscellaneous" expenses (children needing clothes, medicine, etc.); at this time, we do not receive any regular donations for this and often use our personal funds.
  • Personal Support: Prayers for an increase in our personal support would be wonderful! Many thanks!

Easter is coming soon!
Through fun Easter Egg hunts and activities, we are planning on sharing God's love and gospel with 150 children in April. For each child to receive yummy, marshmallow eggs and enjoy a nice lunch, we need $200! Please consider helping to sponsor Easter Eggs for the children this year! Every bit counts!
Thank you!

What would your guardian angel do,
when the biggest threat to your life is…you?

With notoriety and giftings, John finds himself on cruise control, gliding through life in convenience and style. With a beautiful wife and talented children, who attend acclaimed schools, his home life is the image of perfection.

As a proverbial rock star in his industry, John has enjoyed success, unlike any other colleague or competitor. That is until a silent partner emerges from the shadows, demanding an audit of John’s life. An audit ordered by his top investor demanding dividends, which if not met would spell the end to John’s career…or possibly his life!
