Cyclone Freddy passed over the south-west and south-east Regions of Madagascar twice and has left the signs of its path: hundreds of houses destroyed, agricultural plantations flooded over, church buildings either partly or completely collapsed.
The area of the Parish of Fenoarivo, in the Cathedral District, is the most affected because its villages and agricultural plantations are set up alongside the Onilahy River.
At least 1,250 are homeless in the Parish of Fenoarivo. They cannot start to plant right now, as they have to wait for the level of the Onilahy River to go down. Also, the winter season will start in May. All of this means that they won't be able to plant the main food crops of rice and sweet potatoes.

According to the reports from the three Archdeaconries, the people of the Diocese of Toliara need in the region of US$60,00 to repair the devastation caused by Cyclone Freddy throughout the Diocese.
