WCPC Hosanna Industries Work day!

Hosanna Industries is a faith-based, non-profit mission whose work involves a variety of charitable initiatives aimed at helping our disadvantaged neighbors through building and repairing homes for them.

We are looking for volunteers who are interested in helping one of those families on April 29th, 2023.

There is no expectation of construction or repair skills!  If you can carry, clean, move, paint - you can be of service to your community.

The work day starts at approximately 9 am, and you are only expected to bring a pair of gloves, some water and a lunch!

Details for the location will come as we get closer to the work day - as Hosanna works through their job list.

Thank you!

Date: 04/29/2023 (Sat.)
Time: 9:00am - 2:00pm EDT
Location: TBD

Children's Choir March 26th!
Calling all preschool and elementary school kids (and their parents!). On March 26th, our choir director, Andrew, will be directing a children’s choir for the WCC celebration. Music will be emailed to you before that Sunday. We will meet to practice the morning of the choir. Please sign up by emailing the office at office@wexfordcpc.org.

We look forward to this special musical offering by the children!
Maundy Thursday Soup Pot Luck
Please join us on Maundy Thursday in Fellowship Hall at 6 PM for a soup pot luck meal before the service. A sign up sheet is in the narthex, near the bulletin board. Please list what type of soup you plan to bring. Bread and beverages will be provided.

Thank you, The Worship Committee
Easter Flower Donations
We would like to decorate for Easter with potted flowers. Donations can be made in “memory of” or in “honor of” a loved one by using the yellow pew envelope and marking it Easter Flowers along with name(s). Place the envelope in the offering plate or return to the office by Sunday April 2. The list of names will be included in the Easter bulletins. Please feel free to take a potted plant home with you after the 10 AM service.
Thank you!

Confession Banners Sewing Get Together
The Confession Banner project is in full swing and we are currently working on the hand stitching on each banner.  If you are handy with a needle and thread and would like to join us, we need you!

We will be meeting March 19 after church in Fellowship Hall.  If you can stay for 15 minutes or and hour, we can use your help. And, its fun creating these works of art! No need to bring anything but yourself - we have all the supplies. Hope to see you!
Per Capita/Apportionment
Going back to our earliest days, Presbyterians in our country collected an equal contribution from each member to help the church accomplish its regional and national work. They believed this to be both equitable and biblical. That pattern of asking all members to contribute equally to the church’s work, both near and far, continues to this day.

WCPC’s per capita assessment for 2023 is $35.70 per member, and we will remit that amount to the Pittsburgh Presbytery over the course of the calendar year.  Please consider helping us with that commitment by including an extra $35.70 per member in your next offering envelope or online contribution.  Thank you!
38th Annual Sponsorship Concert at Fox Chapel
Members of our own WCPC Choir will be joining Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church Chancel Choir and the Oakmont Presbyterian Church Choir for their 38th Annual Sponsorship Concert, which will be held on Sunday, March 26th at 4:00 pm at the Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church. We will once again have The Academy Chamber Orchestra with us, and will present the Felix Mendelssohn’s great cantata “Hymn of Praise” and John Rutter’s popular “Requiem”. Tickets are free and an offering will be taken to benefit the Sponsorship Concert. We hope to see lots of friendly faces for this concert which has become an important part of our musical offerings for Lent.

WCC Anniversary is coming!
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Wexford Children's Center.  Established in 1972 as a drop-in day care facility for Wexford and surrounding communities, and then expanding to include a preschool program in 1992.
We plan on honoring the WCC in during worship on March 26, but in the mean time, we are gathering any stories from members who were impacted by the WCC.
So if you sent your kids to WCC, or if you attended yourself,
click here to send us an email about the role that WCC played in your story!  And mark your calendars for March 26th!
Summer Camp at Crestfield (July 9-14)

July 9-14
Completed Grades 3-8

During the day, Classic Overnight Campers will adventure through all of the challenge activities that Crestfield offers including ropes courses, canoeing, swamp ball and more.   There will be a chaplain on site who will be leading the campers in discovering God’s Word and growing their spiritual life.  In the evenings, campers will enjoy evening activities such as Capture the Flag, Gold Rush (a Crestfield favorite similar to Capture the Flag), and Lip Sync Night.  They will also enjoy some quiet moments of song and reflection in our beautiful outdoor chapel at the end of each day.  Campers will be housed in the Cottages and Lodge, and weather permitting, will get to experience a camp out night under the stars.
Check-in starts at 3pm Sunday.  Pick up is at 6pm Friday.
Cost for the week is $300 (covers all activities, meals, and lodging)

Set up a time for Coffee with the Pastor!

Pre-pandemic, Tyler had regular "coffee hours" during the week to meet with members - and now it's back!

Before we set regular drop in hours, Tyler would love to take the time to meet with people more directly.  Look at your calendar, and think of a time you'd like to get together.  We can talk about whatever you'd like, just a chance to catch up, to share ideas about the church, to ask questions about the bible, or to talk about the latest movie you saw!

Email Tyler by clicking here to set up a coffee time.
Let him know whether you'd prefer:
a Zoom call,
a meeting at a coffee shop,
or a home visit :)

Deacon Help & Prayer Requests
The Deacons are here to help!

Are you in a Care Zone? Not know what a Care Zone is? Care Zones are our way at WCPC of making sure everyone is cared for and listened to. Our Deacons are a fantastic team. Care Zones are listed on your profile in Breezeor you can click this link.

Deacons seek "compassion, witness, and service, sharing in the redeeming love of Jesus Christ for the poor, the hungry, the sick, the lost, the friendless, the oppressed, those burdened by unjust policies or structures, or anyone in distress" (Book of Order, G-2.0201).

If you cannot connect with your deacon, email the church by clicking here.

Do you have a prayer request? Click here to email the prayer chain
(email goes directly to the full prayer chain list)

Ways to Support the Ministry of WCPC
WCPC continues to minister to this congregation and surrounding community in ways that are new and different.  We are committed to offering uninterrupted ministry, including in-person and/or online worship services to meet the needs of our faith community in a safe and caring manner.  The ongoing financial support of the members and friends of this congregation is vital to sustaining this ministry and providing care not only now, but also in the future.  Please help us to keep this ministry alive and vibrant!

If you are unable to attend an in-person worship service, our online giving option allows you to set the amount & frequency of your offering, designate specific funds (General Fund, Fan the Flame, Missions), and use credit/debit card or PayPal. Online donations are automatically included in your giving statement.  You can also mail checks to the church office (10645 Perry Hwy, Wexford, PA, 15090).

Thank you so much for your continued partnership and support of what God is doing through WCPC!

What is Breeze?

Breeze Church Management Software (“Breeze”) is a program we have used for years, but we had been using internally for office and financial records. It is used by 9,000+ churches to maintain church member information, send emails and text messages, create sign-up forms, generate annual giving reports, and more!

Submit a "Window" Request
Do you have something you'd like to include in the weekly email?
Is it a church event, mission opportunity, or life update?

Please email the short blurb to our church office no later than Thursdays at 9 AM.

We cannot assure that any requests after this time will make it into the weekly email, but it will be considered for the following week. We try to only send out the Window and the link on Sundays to the Online Service. All additional emails are reserved for crucial, time-sensitive announcements (i.e. church being canceled due to weather conditions, loss of life).

Thank you for your patience and understanding!
