Empowering Migrant Voices on Integration and Inclusion Policies

base Graz is taking part in the EMVI project - "Empowering Migrant Voices on Integration and Inclusion Policies" organised by Südwind and the Migrant:innenbeirat. They are offering migrant organisations free training workshops on subjects such as fundraising, project management, discrimination, political rights, civil courage and gender justice. The full list of workshops and descriptions can be viewed here. Our first workshop was already at the Antidiskriminierungsstelle and we learned so much!

The following workshops for migrants are taking place in English at the Seddwell Center.
  • Argumentation training when viewing discrimination or other anti-social behaviour, 26.4.23, 12:00 – 16:00 In this training, participants learn to come out of their powerlessness and to argue against discriminatory, racist or sexist slogans. Through exercises, they learn how to counter racism and promote civil courage. Led by Melinda Tamás (expert on anti-discrimination, Vienna).
  • Political participation 10.05.23, 17:00 – 19:00 What does political participation mean? What possibilities are there for participation? Together we will work out different possibilities of participation and exchange information about organisations and initiatives. Through group work and interactive exercises, we will collect ideas on how to participate in society.
  • Civil Society Engagement 14.6.23, 17:00 – 19:00 How do I found an association and run it successfully? How do I use networking opportunities useful for me? Experienced association leaders and members share their knowledge and experience. The special form of eParticipation will be presented!
Dates and times have not yet been confirmed for Rights of migrants and refugees, Fundraising and the Gender Justice city walk.

If you would like to take part, email Rachel  with the workshops you are interested in attending.
