NEW Mock PSAT opportunity

For the class of 2025 and younger, the College Board is transitioning the PSAT and SAT from pencil-and-paper format to digital format. Becoming familiar with the new digital-format tests will be key for students (current Freshmen and Sophomores) to feel confident as they head into their official PSAT in October.

Our partners at Revolution Prep are now offering a digital PSAT and SAT experience that most accurately reflects the official College Board test in format, user experience, adaptivity, and content. Students will learn how to navigate the new digital testing format and practice using the exact tools available to them on the real test, such as the graphing calculator, digital annotations, answer elimination, and more.

Upon completing the practice exam, students will receive a score report illustrating three high-impact areas to focus on for each section of the test. Support your student in being prepared for the switch to the digital PSAT by registering for the practice test below:

Digital PSAT:  Saturday, April 22 | 9:00 am – 12:00 pm PT | Live Online
Cost: $25 donation to the PTSA

Only students who will graduate in 2025 or 2026 should sign up

Register now.

Community Service Spotlight

We are excited to feature EHS Senior, Ronny Erlich, in our Community Service Spotlight. Ronny is the current president of Kids Coming Together, a local non-profit led by high school volunteers who organize community service opportunities for kids in grades 3-8. Prior to serving as president of Kids Coming Together, Ronny was on their Youth Board where she worked with other student volunteers to maintain the KCT website, write newsletters, create social media posts, and plan monthly kid-friendly community service events.

Ronny is dedicated to KCT’s mission to teach younger kids the importance of serving the community while providing them with opportunities to make meaningful connections. Their events are targeted toward kids who might be struggling socially (new to the area, shy, etc.) as well as those who are extroverted and want to help others make friends. The KCT service events might include anything from caring for farm animals, doing art projects with memory care residents, to creating cards for teachers or making dog toys for the humane society. During the pandemic, many service projects were put on hold so KCT turned to online events to keep kids connected and engaged. Ronny says that she saw “unlikely friendships form, even during virtual meetings." She adds that "getting to see the impact that the events we run have on kids, makes me see the influence Kids Coming Together has on the community.”

Thank you, Ronny, for giving your time and talent to serve the community while helping others do the same!

For more information about Kids Coming Together and how to get involved, check out their website: kidscomingtogether.org

Community Service Hours Tracking Info

All EHS students can participate in the Community Service Program, and it’s never too late to begin! Students can log all their community service hours at www.ehs-service.org,  Students with a total of 50 hours or more will be eligible to be featured on the Community service award lists published twice a year in Fall and Spring. Inclusion on this list can be listed as an award on job, college, scholarship, and other applications and seniors can use them in the fall for college apps and spring for graduation. Youth Eastside Services (YES) - BOLO For Rainbow Fentanyl

Be on the lookout (BOLO) for rainbow fentanyl as it has been found recently in enormous quantities in Bothell, so please share this information far and wide for preventative measures. This is the first we’re seeing of the all-colored pills (not a solid color each) and the cubes that look like gum or candy.  Fentanyl is an opioid that is 80-100 times stronger than morphine and is being found in many substances including pain pills, vaping and marijuana cartridges.

If you have concerns or questions about substance use including nicotine/vaping, contact our Youth Eastside Services’ prevention intervention counselor Andrea Frost @ andrea.frost@youtheastsideservices.org
