YOU ARE INVITED—ALTON WEAGLE DAY at the AUTO ROAD

Saturday, May 27, 2023  |  6:00am
Hello <<First Name>>!

You are getting this email because you have either been an Alton Weagler in the past, you’ve expressed interest in being part of the fun … or we think you have what it takes to be a Weagler! We kick off our summer season with Alton Weagle Day at the Mt. Washington Auto Road on Memorial Day weekend, Saturday, May 27th at 6am.

We welcome you to join us in this special and eccentric event celebrating "The Road" itself, its incredible history, and specifically the many "firsts" to summit by its course.

Please email your first ascent idea to lisa@mt-washington.com so we can plan on your participation.

On Memorial Day we honor those who have passed in ultimate sacrifice for our liberty. "All those fluttering flags" remind us of our freedom to do whatever silly or serious thing we choose with our day. And especially now, our particular independence on Alton Weagle Day is a clear celebration of this greatest gift!

And there are so many "firsts" remaining to be accomplished! This note is going out now so you have time to plan, train, cajole your friends and otherwise prepare for one of the most fun and challenging days of your coming summer. Please be on time so we can amaze and entertain the throngs of adoring fans and media—or at least kiss your loved ones good-bye. Our tradition involves a boisterous salute, starting promptly at 6 am, that is marked with a marvelous assortment of noise formulators for the great send-off.

Remember, whatever you dream this Alton Weagle day, "if you think you can, or if you think you can't—you're right!"

More details will follow in early May. But get crackin’ and round up other like minded folks so we can have another great gathering in honor of Alton.

Please pass this onto anyone you know who may be interested. Whether they are unbelievably athletic, or downright silly, we’re totally inclusive here so long as it’s safe. We do need to hear from potential participants prior to May 12th to assess the safety and "firstness" of the entry.

Thank you! We hope to see you on Memorial Day Weekend.

Cheers,
Lisa and Hans
