COVID-19 vaccine reminders

Moderna Bivalent (BA.4-5)
If your site wishes to provide this vaccine and was not onboarded, you can request access through the Vaccine Access Request feature in the COVID-19 Vaccine Administrative System (CVAS), from 25 March. Be mindful that this vaccine takes up approximately 12 times more fridge space than multidose vials.

AstraZeneca (AZ)
All AZ stock has now expired. Providers are asked to check fridges, dispose of remaining stock and report as wastage in CVAS.

COVID-19 vaccine allocations
Murray PHN is unable to change vaccine allocations. If you need to secure more vaccine you can transfer stock. Vaccine stock can only be transferred between sites participating in the Program. Both sites must have completed the relevant site declaration in CVAS and be enabled for that vaccine type. The transfer needs to be recorded in the CVAS Vaccine Stock Management Report by both sites. Refer to the list of COVID-19 vaccine providers in Murray PHN here to locate potential sites for transfer. Contact covax@murrayphn.org.au for further assistance.

COVID-19 Vulnerable Populations Small Grants
Murray PHN is providing up to $10,000 in funding to providers to support short-term activities that enhance access to COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations for temporary residents, people without a Medicare card and vulnerable individuals in the community who cannot access a vaccination site. Examples of items that may be funded include operational costs such as travel expenses or small asset costs like a portable cooler, equipment hire, advertising and staffing. Since Local Public Health Units have ceased supplying vaccinations, Murray PHN is experiencing increased requests for aged in-reach and homebound vaccinations.

Activities must be delivered by 29 September 2023. To apply, review the guidance document and outline proposed activities in EOI form. For more information, email: tenders@murrayphn.org.au

Applications close next Monday, 27 March 2023 at 5pm.

Murray PHN acknowledges its catchment crosses over many unceded First Nations Countries, following the Dhelkunya Yaluk (Healing River).
We pay our respects and give thanks to the Ancestors, Elders and Young people for their nurturing, protection and caregiving of these sacred lands and waterways, acknowledging their continuing cultural, spiritual and educational practices.
We are grateful for the sharing of Country and the renewal that Country gives us. We acknowledge and express our sorrow that this sharing has come at a personal, spiritual and cultural cost to the wellbeing of First Nations peoples. We commit to addressing the injustices of colonisation across our catchment, and to listening to the wisdom of First Nations communities who hold the knowledge to enable healing.
We extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Murray PHN (ABN 92 156 423 755) acknowledges the financial and other support from the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing.
