Amgen Biotech Experience
The Amgen Biotech Experience (ABE), at the Lawrence Hall of Science, is an innovative science education program that provides teacher professional development, curriculum materials, and research-grade equipment and supplies to secondary schools. The program features a hands-on molecular biology curriculum designed to introduce students to the excitement of scientific discovery. Each year, over 70,000 students and hundreds of science teachers participate in this program and have the opportunity to explore the methods scientists use to create biotechnology medicines. The reach of the program has been extraordinary, with nearly 1,000,000 students to date having experienced the fundamentals of biotechnology across multiple U.S. states, and internationally.

- Be willing to learn basic science and laboratory principles
- Be able to work with and be sensitive to a diverse population
- Be reliable, punctual, and a good communicator
- Be able to work in a noisy, chaotic environment
- Be able to commit to the dates and times of the position
- Be a CalTeach student (preferable but not required)
