Gerard Raphet's Clos Vougeot "Cuvee Unique" 2020 is an elegantly textbook Burgundy crafted from old vines, some of which sit in lieu-dit "Les Grand Maupertuis" of the Clos Vougeot vineyard. This wine is old-school through and through... unfined, unfiltered, and ready to nestle in your cellar. Quantities are very limited!

BH93: "Pretty and beautifully layered aromas of various ripe and fresh wild red berries, spice and newly turned earth are trimmed in just enough wood to notice. The solidly dense and intense medium-bodied flavors possess a sleek mouthfeel while exhibiting fine length on the overtly austere finale where a touch of warmth slowly emerges. Importer's Notes: "Raphet wines are a Burgundy lover’s Burgundy. While the wine’s color in the glass is a delicate ruby, aromas and flavors surprise with their forceful intensity. This contrast often catches the uninitiated off guard, yet it is part of the seduction of these limited and highly sought-after wines. Raphet Burgundy is handmade from field to bottle, with a rhythm and method that hasn’t changed in more than four generations. Pinot Noir vines at the estate are on average very old, with many surpassing 100 years. North Berkeley Imports selects individual barrels of wine to import exclusively under our own label, “Cuvée Unique.” These wines, unlike the estate’s regular wines, are bottled unfined and unfiltered.

We are excited to announce low cost shipping options for our customers in DC and Portland (OR). For $2 per bottle to DC, and $1 per bottle to Portland, Benchmark clients who would like to pick up their purchases in either of these cities can elect to have their wines sent to our CellarPros affiliate. These shipments will be sent via temperature-controlled transport, and only when our clients’ orders combined have filled a pallet to the destination location. Should you need a purchase shipped more urgently, we have plenty of other options to choose from. Ask your client manager how to take advantage of this new shipping option.
