Bible verse of the week
Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones you have crushed rejoice. Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity.
Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
Psalm 51:7-12 |

Updates from Christchurch Adventist School |
“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” - 1 Thess 5:16-18
At the start of this new school year we truly have much to be thankful for. There are a few of these that I would like to highlight and thank God for his abundant blessings.
NCEA results For the fifth consecutive year, 100% of our NCEA students gained their respective NCEA certificate. For the past three years with the impacts of COVID, the national pass rate for these certificates has been decreasing. Our results reflect what I believe are three important aspects of success. Firstly, the level of care that our staff have for our students, teaching and encouraging them and working with them to do their best. Secondly, the efforts that our students, with the encouragement of their families, put into their studies. And finally, I believe most importantly is the blessing that God gives to those who seek to bring honour and glory to His name. All praise to God!
Primary Refurbishment Over the summer holidays the primary building received a major refurbishment. The classrooms were stripped and fitted with acoustic suspended ceilings, LED lighting, power circuits and acoustic wall linings. As a result, the classrooms are now cleaner, brighter and quieter, resulting in improved learning environments for our students. Considering the scope of the project we are grateful that it was able to be completed on time ready for the start of school. Special thanks also goes to Roger Marshall for his work in overseeing the project.
Enrolments Again we are starting the year with a full role. Unfortunately there were many families who would have liked to have their children enrolled in our school but due to space we were not able to accommodate. From time to time when families move out of town some places become available in different year classes and we have a list of families ready to fill these positions.
Staffing At a time where there are teacher shortages, God has blessed us by supplying the staff that we need. This year we welcome three new members to our team. Mrs Jan Kelly leading our learning support, Mrs Tracey Freeborn looking after our library and Mrs Alison Chick as a teacher aide.
So often we get so caught up in the business and stresses of life that we forget to stop and recall the many things that we have to be thankful for. God calls us to give thanks and be grateful even for the small blessings in our lives. As we continue to journey through the year, it is my prayer that we keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, constantly giving thanks for all that He has and is doing in our lives.
