Celebrating “Beyond the Ordinary”
By: Louise Mehl, Savannah One Women's Conference Coordinator
It seems so appropriate that our recent Savannah One Women's Conference was titled “Beyond the Ordinary”. Many who attended have remarked on what an extraordinary experience it was. It was remarkable that women from ten churches across Savannah spent the weekend worshiping together.
Meg and Craig Spinks led several sessions of powerful worship, and we were blessed once again to receive teaching from longtime friends from Ireland. As they brought the story of Ruth and Naomi to life, we were reminded of the loyalty and faithfulness of two ordinary women - their commitment to each other and to God, and of course His unwavering faithfulness to them which also extends to us.
During one breakout session, Kim King from Beulah Baptist Church spoke to us about "Unity in the Body". Unity is easy to define but difficult to live out. We approached the topic with fear, trembling, and prayer. Led by Kim, we considered what it would look like to be united, if churches in our city were less reluctant to come together, to pray together, to worship together, to serve, support, and love each other well - without losing sight of our denominational and individual identities.

From Valerie Hanks, Parish Life Administrator
We are excited to share details about a new ministry partnership at CCA:
Promise686 whose vision is to fulfill God’s promise found in Psalm 68:8 "set the lonely in families" by mobilizing church communities to care for vulnerable children.
Promise686 equips churches to:
- Raise awareness around the needs of vulnerable children
- Help prevent children from going into foster care by supporting biological families in need
- Recruit and equip foster & adoptive families
- Create Care Communities for those caring for at-risk kids
As we begin our partnership with this gospel centered ministry, we ask for both your prayers & your assistance moving forward.
Please take 2 minutes & complete this survey, which will help us discern needs within our church body as well as identify folks who might consider serving within this ministry.
