On Monday March 20, 2023 the Bluffton Board of Education officially hired Adam Burris as the new Bluffton High School Varsity Girls Basketball Coach.
Coach Burris is replacing Eric Garmatter. He played basketball for, and graduated from, both Bluffton High School and Bluffton University.
Coach Burris brings thirteen years of coaching experience with seven of those years as a Varsity Head Coach. He coached Varsity Girls and Boys at North Baltimore and Varsity Boys at Bath.
Athletic Directo Alex Hanna comments, "We look forward to working with Coach Burris and welcome him back to Bluffton."

St. Mary's Catholic Church of Bluffton is seeking clean new and gently used shoes for a shoe drive fundraiser, going on until April 19. The shoes will be sent to help support micro business owners in other countries. Organizers note that the donations "stimulate other economies along with keeping shoes out of landfills."
The goal is to collect more than 2,500 pairs of shoes to help support St. Mary's
youth programs. A drive-through collection will take place on March 25, from 9:00 a.m.-noon at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 160 N. Spring St.
Other drive through dates are April 1 and April 15 from 9:00 a.m.-noon.
There are also drop boxes inside St. Mary’s Catholic Church and at Citizen’s National Bank, 102 S. Main St.

WFIN.com has reported that the man charged with involuntary manslaughter in the March 31, 2022 death of Bluffton Police Officer Dominic Francis has pled guilty and been sentenced in Hancock County Common Pleas Court.
On Tuesday afternoon. March 21, 2023, Emin Johnson, 21, was sentenced to 21 to 26 and a half years in prison. The term is for consective sentences on six charges.
In a Lima News report, it was noted that last week Johnson had written a letter to the court alleging collusion between the judge, prosecutors and public defenders, which he retracted on Tuesday of this week.
Johnson was driving the stolen vehicle that struck and killed Francis on Interstate I-75 near the SR 103 exit. Francis was setting up stop sticks to disable the vehicle which was being pursued at high speeds through several counties.
Two passengers in the vehicle, Dante Tate and Zachary Love, previously pleaded guilty on related charges and have been sentenced.
