KILIMANJARO MISSIONS
February has come and gone in a blaze of heat. People assure us that rain is around the corner, which will cool things off. In spite of the heat, the Kilimanjaro Missions team has been busy. Evance and I go out several days a week to do personal evangelism. We pass out tracts and conduct or set up Bible studies where we can. When our schedules do not align, Evance continues to do his own evangelism. He also assists some of the church members when he is able.
This month, the Kilimanjaro congregation began to enact some long-term efforts aimed at church growth. Goal 1 is to host 3-4 seminars this year. Each seminar will focus on different areas of church development. Our first seminar was held on February 11. The theme was church growth and what that entails. We had about 60 people in attendance from various congregations. Four speakers brought a message on different aspects of church growth, and we enjoyed "dinner on the ground." Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day and left feeling energized and edified.
The congregation's second goal is have a monthly Evangelism Day. All of our own members, as well as members from other local congregations, are invited to join us as we split into teams to cover a specific area of town. We passed out tracts about the church of Christ, and several teams were able to have Bible studies on the spot. Our first Evangelism Day saw 25-30 people gather at the Bible School, pray, then go to work. The combined efforts of this day created multiple contacts on which the men of the Kilimanjaro congregation will follow up. Obviously, this is a huge help to the work here.
A personal highlight from Evangelism Day was watching all 4 of my children participate. Arabella and Juliette went with Jessica and Abigail (a Kilimanjaro member); Claude and Lorelai each joined separate teams. The older kids were really impacted by the work and are eager to participate again.
Thanks to some special donations over the last few months, we have been able to undertake certain projects at the church. Our first purchase was a large office copier with which to print our own tracts. Once we get digital copies of the tracts, we will be able to add the church's time/place/contact information to them. We were also able to purchase some Bibles and songbooks. With these, we try to bless other congregations as well as our own. It can be hard for us to realize how difficult it is to simply purchase a new Bible or a new songbook for personal use or for a congregation when the old ones wear out. As this is an ongoing project, donations are always welcome for this effort.
At the end of the month, Jessica and I began taking Swahili classes. We found an excellent teacher who is able to meet with us at our home twice a week. We should complete our class in a year's time. The children continue to take Swahili classes at a local school.
As always, we want to thank our wonderful supporters for allowing us to be your hands and feet here in Tanzania. Thank you for sending special donations; the Lord has a use for every one of them. Please continue to pray for your Christian brethren around the world who are working so hard to keep the faith.

In Christ,

Noel, Jessica, Lorelai, Claude, Arabella, and Juliette Stafford
