How the Global Lymphatic Community Celebrated World Lymphedema Day 2023

World Lymphedema Day provides a platform for people living with lymphatic diseases (LDs), caregivers, healthcare professionals, and advocacy groups to share their experiences, insights, and ideas. Hundreds of advocates submitted their events from their hospitals, schools, homes, and workplaces. This year, the community was so creative and diverse in their celebrations including:

  • Lighting monuments and capitols in teal

  • Collaborating on manifestos, proclamations, and resolutions

  • Dancing with friends in World Lymphedema Day videos

  • Storytelling about your lymphatic diagnosis journey

  • Baking World Lymphedema Day cakes

  • Posting facts about LDs on social media

  • Hosting luncheons

  • Advocating for healthcare disparities in the lymphatic community

  • Dedicating your workout class to raise awareness

  • Dressing in teal

Check out everything that happened by visiting the World Lymphedema Day website. It is not too late to share any photos or videos of the celebrations held in your local community, please click here to submit. You can also still add your event to our World Lymphedema Day map!
